Chapter 1877

In the past, when Cindy was still in college, Hazel would give her suggestions to marry rich.

In those days, Cindy’s father hadn’t left yet, so Hazel was wholly focused on getting Cindy to marry intoa rich family so that she could help the family. Now that Cindy thought about it, she did indeed getherself a rich boyfriend, so she was afraid that Hazel would bring those ideas up again.

They were not fools, so if Hazel really had such thoughts, Ian would catch on fairly quickly. Ian’s familywas already complicated as it was, so if her own family was added to the equation, Cindy could feelnothing but a huge headache.

Suddenly, Cindy leaned in toward Ian and planted a kiss on his lips. “What are you thinking about? If Iwere ashamed of you, I wouldn’t be proud of anyone else.”

Ian glanced at the driver in front. The driver seemed to be keeping to himself and ignoring hispassengers’ conversation at the back.

The two spoke in hushed tones, and Ian thought for a while before saying, “I can delay meeting her, butI’m allowed to communicate with her at least, right?”

Cindy also knew that if she declined any further, Ian would start reading too much into it.

Also, now that Yulia was waiting for a chance to strike, Cindy wasn’t quite confident about thingsanymore. She, too, wanted to hold Ian tightly in her hands.

Hence, she said, “That’s why I wanted to find a suitable opportunity. It’s not that I don’t want you tocontact her. It’s just that we have to decide on a good time before letting you communicate with my

mom.”

When the cab pulled up at the community entrance, Cindy’s phone suddenly rang in her pocket. Sheretrieved her phone out of her pocket as she got out of the car. A look at the display told her that it wasa phone call from Naomi.

Naomi seemed to be very active online these days, so she must have also seen the articles on Cindyand Ian.

Cindy took a few steps to the side, then answered the call. On the other end, Naomi shouted beforeCindy could even speak. “What’s going on?! You guys are being so sweet in public!” novelbin

Cindy chuckled. “Who would’ve thought, right? We wanted to keep it a secret, but people recognizedus too quickly. And here I thought I'd perfectly disguised myself!”

Naomi sighed. “They didn’t recognize you; they recognized Ian. It doesn’t have anything to do with yourdisguise.”

The words had hit the bullseye, and Cindy immediately went speechless.

Naomi continued, “I saw the photos they posted, and you looked so sweet together with Ian.”

She smacked her lips. “You two weren’t interacting like this before when I went over last time. Howhave you progressed so fast in the short time I haven’t seen you?”

Cindy looked back at Ian. The latter had already paid for the ride and was walking toward her. Shereplied, “You came at the wrong time. We were in an argument those few days, and we were sulking

then.”

Naomi was surprised. “Really? So you’re in a cold war at that time? Man, I didn’t even realize, and Ithought you two were trying not to get too intimate with each other in front of me. I should’ve thought ofthat! I really thought you two were being considerate of me, but in the end, it’s just you two arguing.”

Ian walked over just then and reached up to put his hand on Cindy’s shoulder. “Who’s the call from?”

Cindy turned to look at him and said, “Naomi. She saw the news on the net and called to ask.”

Ian’s lips curved into a helpless smile. “Technology is advancing so fast; I don’t know if it’s a good thingor not. You can’t keep a secret nowadays.”

Cindy agreed with him, then spoke to Naomi through the phone. “There really is no mystery in dating asuperstar.”

Naomi inhaled sharply. “That’s enough, both of you. Don’t act so lovey-dovey when I’m still on thephone. It hurts singles like me.”

After that, she immediately asked, “Since you two are progressing so smoothly, are you preparing totake the next step?”
