Chapter 1822

Cindy rolled over, put the phone to her ear, and closed her eyes again. “Yes, she stopped our car, but Idon't know what the conversation was like because I wasn’t the one who talked to her."

With that said, Peter also understood, but he was in no position to ask what they had talked about. Thepurpose of him making this call was just to apologize. "I'm sorry. I didn't expect her to find you andcause you trouble."

Cindy didn't think it was Peter's problem. Relationships were the most complicated thing, and thedivision of responsibilities was not easy. She smiled and said, "It's not too much trouble, so don’t youtake it to heart. Besides, we'll be leaving tomorrow, so this should be the end of the matter."

Peter was a little surprised. "Are you leaving here tomorrow?"

“Yes.” As that girl knew their identities, Peter should know too. So, she didn't plan to hide it and simplysaid, "Everything here has been dealt with, and Ian's work needs to be on the right track. Therefore, wemust leave."

Peter grunted and said, "Ah, yes, yes." novelbin

He then laughed a little self-deprecatingly. "He's so famous, but I didn't even recognize him at first."

Cindy said mildly, "You don't read the tabloids anyway. People like you who love sports will definitelynot pay attention to celebrities. It's normal."

Cindy rolled over, put the phone to her eor, ond closed her eyes ogoin. “Yes, she stopped our cor, but Idon't know whot the conversotion wos like becouse I wosn’t the one who tolked to her."

With thot soid, Peter olso understood, but he wos in no position to osk whot they hod tolked obout. Thepurpose of him moking this coll wos just to opologize. "I'm sorry. I didn't expect her to find you ondcouse you trouble."

Cindy didn't think it wos Peter's problem. Relotionships were the most complicoted thing, ond thedivision of responsibilities wos not eosy. She smiled ond soid, "It's not too much trouble, so don’t youtoke it to heort. Besides, we'll be leoving tomorrow, so this should be the end of the motter."

Peter wos o little surprised. "Are you leoving here tomorrow?"

“Yes.” As thot girl knew their identities, Peter should know too. So, she didn't plon to hide it ond simplysoid, "Everything here hos been deolt with, ond Ion's work needs to be on the right trock. Therefore, wemust leove."

Peter grunted ond soid, "Ah, yes, yes."

He then loughed o little self-deprecotingly. "He's so fomous, but I didn't even recognize him ot first."

Cindy soid mildly, "You don't reod the tobloids onywoy. People like you who love sports will definitelynot poy ottention to celebrities. It's normol."

Then, Peter hesitated before asking, "Then do you both have time today? I want to invite you to a mealas a send-off."

Cindy didn't know if Peter was just asking out of politeness, but she still replied very seriously, "Wealready have an appointment today because we’re leaving tomorrow. Many people invited us out fordinner tonight. It's not that I don't want to join you, but it's that we really don't have time. I hope you can

understand."

Peter grunted and answered, “I see. Yes, I understand."

Having said that, the two of them said a few more polite words before hanging up. Cindy was still a littletired, so she put the phone down and rolled over into Ian's arms. At that, Ian also woke up and asked,"Was it Peter?"

Cindy snuggled into his arms and replied, "Yeah, he wanted to apologize."

Ian could also understand why he was apologizing, so he chuckled. "He couldn't even handle awoman. A nobody indeed."

Cindy was amused when she heard what he said. "You talk as if you’re very good at it."

As soon as she said this, Ian sucked in a breath and thought of something from the past. Truth be told,he was in no position to criticize Peter because he couldn't handle Cindy before either.

Then, he smiled and didn't speak. The two hugged and fell asleep for a while before getting up.

After waking up, he received a message from Logan, along with an address. Logan said that he hadgotten everything ready, so Ian and the others could go to his house now. Thus, Ian went to showerfirst, and then he went to Aurora. The three of them dressed up a little before driving to Logan's house.

When they arrived, Sophia and John had already arrived, and this time they also brought their son. Thelittle boy was different from the last time everyone saw him. He was fair and tender, and his big eyesblinked on seeing them. John held the child in his arms the whole time while Sophia chatted with Lola

on the sofa. There were servants in the kitchen, and Logan occasionally went over to take a look.

After Cindy, Ian, and Aurora arrived, Logan hurriedly greeted them. No one mentioned Bryce’s burialbecause there was no need to bring up such an unpleasant topic to kill the good mood tonight.

After a while, Aurora couldn't hold back and took the child from John's arms. The boy was not afraid ofstrangers, and he simply stared at Aurora and started to babble in a babyish voice.

During the last time, Cindy hadn't looked at the child seriously because she was preoccupied with othermatters, and she wasn’t the kind to be too fond of kids.
