Chapter 1762

Ian nodded. “It’s either Simon or Sally.” Nobody else would call him after all. Not long after he hung up,a text came in.

Cindy raised her head and looked at his phone that was on the table. “Take a look. I’m curious, actually.I want to know what they have to say.”

Ian pushed his phone over to Cindy. “I’m not really interested.”

Cindy took the phone and clicked into the text. It was from Sally, saying she wanted to talk with Ian.Cindy took a deep breath. She wants to talk? She thinks she can negotiate under this kind ofcircumstance? We have nothing to talk about here.

Aurora huddled over, glanced at the text, and took Ian’s phone away to delete the message. “Tell themto go back from whence they came. They’re trying to have their cake and eat it, but I say we smash thecake in their faces.” novelbin

Cindy had the same thought. They made a mess of everyone’s lives, and now they want to talkbecause their plan backfired. Do they think everyone’s a pushover? Get real.

They went down for a stroll after finishing their meal. They thought Leah and her cronies had left, butnot long after they came out, they saw Sally.

Sally did not look good. Her hair was unkempt, and her clothes were messy, as if she was tangled in astruggle with someone earlier. When she saw Ian, hope rose in her eyes, and she trotted over, callingout to him, “Ian! Ian!”

Ian frowned. He held Cindy’s shoulder with one hand and his mother’s arm with the other, then heturned around and left.

Sally started to panic when she realized he was leaving. “Give me a minute, Ian! Please! I havesomething to say to you!”

Ian didn’t want to hear what she had to say. He could guess what she had in mind, since there weren’ta lot of things she could say at this point. He held the ladies closer to him and started to walk evenfaster so he could leave.

Beset by panic, Sally broke into a run and caught up to them, but she didn’t try to hold him. All she didwas stand in front of him and opened her arms to stop them from leaving. She humbly requested,“Please, just give me a minute, Ian. I don’t need much. Just let me say my piece.”

Aurora frowned. She only vaguely saw Sally through the peephole earlier, but now that Sally wasstanding in front of them, she could see that the girl took after her mother. She looked harmlesswhenever she tried to be innocent, and now that she looked like a mess, it only made her look evenmore pitiful.

Ian told her off coolly, “I have nothing to say to you, nor am I interested in what you have to say. If youdon’t want to make a bigger mess out of this, I advise you to stay away from me.”

Sally put her hands together and begged him. “Please, it won’t take long. I’ll leave after I’m done.” Sheknew Cindy was Ian’s girlfriend, so she turned around to ask for her favor as well. “I won’t take long, really. I promise.”

Cindy wondered why Sally was suddenly talking to her. She leaned closer to Ian and said nothing.

Sally pursed her lips. “Can’t you help a sister out here?”

Cindy would have laughed out loud if it weren’t for the solemn situation. Hey, we aren’t even friends, and this has nothing to do with me. You and your family bullied my boyfriend before. Why should I helpyou? Cindy didn’t understand how Sally could be that shameless.

Since Cindy wouldn’t help, Sally turned to Aurora. Once again, she nicely requested, “Aurora, we didn’tmean to do anything. We just wanted to talk when we went over today. We didn’t expect you guys tomisunderstand, and things are getting out of hand now. My mom’s spiraling downward quickly. Please, have mercy on us.”
