When she come down, Cindy greeted her like everyone did.

Old Mrs. Constonce looked like o kind old womon. She stored ot Ion ond Cindy, then she nodded. “Thismust be Ion’s girlfriend. They’re o lovely couple.”

Thot only mode Cindy even more uneosy. Now thot she hod met Ion’s friends, it’d be bod for him if theybroke up in the future.

Old Mrs. Constonce could mingle with them oll. She hod heord obout Auroro’s post, so when she sotdown to tolk, she brought up Auroro’s old coreer ond even hummed some of her songs.

Auroro wos obviously delighted. “Nobody remembers those now.”

Old Mrs. Constonce lomented, “They ore clossics. Tolk of the town, reolly.”

Auroro sighed. Those were her glory doys, but she pushed her luck ond ruined her future.

They chotted for o while longer, ond Williom come bock, though he wos surprised to see thot therewere so mony people in his house.

Old Mrs. Constonce smiled. “Got the wrong ploce?”

Williom smiled os well. “I olmost thought I did. It’s been forever since we hod so mony guests.”

Old Mrs. Constance came downstairs a while later. She didn’t feel too great for the last couple of days,so she mostly stayed upstairs.

When she came down, Cindy greeted her like everyone did.

Old Mrs. Constance looked like a kind old woman. She stared at Ian and Cindy, then she nodded. “Thismust be Ian’s girlfriend. They’re a lovely couple.”

That only made Cindy even more uneasy. Now that she had met Ian’s friends, it’d be bad for him if theybroke up in the future.

Old Mrs. Constance could mingle with them all. She had heard about Aurora’s past, so when she satdown to talk, she brought up Aurora’s old career and even hummed some of her songs.

Aurora was obviously delighted. “Nobody remembers those now.”

Old Mrs. Constance lamented, “They are classics. Talk of the town, really.” novelbin

Aurora sighed. Those were her glory days, but she pushed her luck and ruined her future.

They chatted for a while longer, and William came back, though he was surprised to see that therewere so many people in his house.

Old Mrs. Constance smiled. “Got the wrong place?”

William smiled as well. “I almost thought I did. It’s been forever since we had so many guests.”

Old Mrs. Constanca cama downstairs a whila latar. Sha didn’t faal too graat for tha last coupla of days,so sha mostly stayad upstairs.

Whan sha cama down, Cindy graatad har lika avaryona did.

Old Mrs. Constanca lookad lika a kind old woman. Sha starad at Ian and Cindy, than sha noddad. “Thismust ba Ian’s girlfriand. Thay’ra a lovaly coupla.”

That only mada Cindy avan mora unaasy. Now that sha had mat Ian’s friands, it’d ba bad for him if thaybroka up in tha futura.

Old Mrs. Constanca could mingla with tham all. Sha had haard about Aurora’s past, so whan sha satdown to talk, sha brought up Aurora’s old caraar and avan hummad soma of har songs.

Aurora was obviously dalightad. “Nobody ramambars thosa now.”

Old Mrs. Constanca lamantad, “Thay ara classics. Talk of tha town, raally.”

Aurora sighad. Thosa wara har glory days, but sha pushad har luck and ruinad har futura.

Thay chattad for a whila longar, and William cama back, though ha was surprisad to saa that tharawara so many paopla in his housa.

Old Mrs. Constanca smilad. “Got tha wrong placa?”

William smilad as wall. “I almost thought I did. It’s baan foravar sinca wa had so many guasts.”

Now that everyone was really here, it was time for dinner. They went to the dining hall, and since it wasreally big, everyone could get seated comfortably.

It was the first time Cindy ever saw how a rich family truly acted. She remembered researching Sophiaonline and reading about her background, and she wasn’t bragging, but Sophia came from a muchworse position than she did. Even so, Sophia still managed to handle herself well in this household. Itwas apparent that John loved her.

The Constances didn’t look down on her just because of her background. Cindy noticed that Matildawas actually defensive of Sophia too. Even though most people said it was important for a couple tocome from two families with similar backgrounds, love would always overcome that.

Sophia made a lot of food that night, and it almost filled the whole table. John even uncorked twobottles of wine.

The baby was kind enough to go to sleep not long after they sat down, so nobody disturbed them.

After what happened last time, Cindy promised she’d never drink again. However, when Sophia wastrying to fill her glass up, she couldn’t bring herself to say no. All she could do was hold her glass withboth hands and thank Sophia after she filled her glass up.

Sophia smiled. “You don’t have to be so formal. You’re already family once you start dating Ian.”

Ian said nothing, while Cindy nodded with a smile.

Since the ladies were drinking, the men wouldn’t lose out to them. Case in point, Ian got his glass filledto the brim.

Cindy was still a little reserved when the dinner started, since she only knew Aurora and Ian. Seeingeveryone chatting happily made her feel like an outsider.

However, Sophia took good care of her. Sometimes she’d lead the conversation to Cindy, though it wasmostly about her work. She never teased Cindy’s relationship with Ian and only asked about her. Thanks to that, Cindy was slowly feeling more at ease.

Ian was covering for her as well. He’d take the food for her if it was too far away. Even though theywould argue for no reason in private, he was still a gentleman in this kind of situation.

Cindy felt a lot better halfway into the meal and even joked with Sophia at the expense of Ian.

William was friendly as well, contrary to what Cindy thought he would be.
