Chapter 1611

At least judging from what Sean said last time, he wasn’t standing against Ian.

At the same time, a waiter came in and said everything was prepared, so they could have dinneranytime they wanted to.

Logan helped Lola up. “Let’s have dinner first. We can talk later.”

John got up and pulled Sophia up as well. At the same time, he said, “It’ll be a big reunion if yourassistant is here as well.”

Ian paused. He hesitated for a while, but eventually, he explained, “She has to go home. Familymatters. Maybe next time.”

John arched his eyebrow. Oh, is he saying what I think he’s saying? They’re dating? He finally letSophia go, huh? That’s good. John heaved a sigh of relief. They went to their room and took theirseats. It was a bit of a formal dinner, and they even uncorked two bottles of red wine for the occasion.

Logan was delighted. He didn’t have many friends, so every time Ian came back, he’d be over themoon, as if he was getting married again.

After Ian took his seat, he put his hand in his pocket, but he hesitated for a moment and didn’t callCindy in the end. novelbin

Logan didn’t notice that, and he handed a glass of wine to Ian. “Come on, guys. I want to see yourglasses full. You’ll be staying for a bit this time, right, Ian? Since you guys have a lot of time on your

hands, come join me whenever you can. I have all the entertainment you want.”

John felt slightly annoyed, for he took Logan’s words personally. He coughed. “I don’t have any time atall. I have kids to take care of. It’s more tiring than any regular work.”

Sophia felt amused that John was trying to justify him not working. “If you think it’s tiring, then go towork. The servants can take care of the kids. It’s fine even if you aren’t around.”

“As if,” John retorted. “The boy won’t let anyone else hold him. He wouldn’t stop crying when theservant held him last night, but he stopped the moment I took over. I’m his father, and there’s nobodywho can take my spot.” He gave her a smug look, though Sophia thought that was nothing to be proudabout.

Aurora didn’t know about Ian and Sophia’s past, though she sighed. After all, John and Sophia alreadyhad a child, while Logan and Lola were expecting. But Cindy showed no signs of pregnancy at all.“You’re all about the same age, but you guys are already parents, while Ian is…” They’re sleeping indifferent rooms. Guess I won’t be a grandma anytime soon.

Logan glanced at Sophia. Worried that everyone might feel awkward, he changed the topic to Cindy.“Cindy’s a nice girl. Ian just has to work a bit harder, that’s all.”

Aurora shook her head. “You don’t know anything. They don’t really care, but I do.”

Logan laughed. “Don’t sweat it. These things take time. It’ll happen when it happens.”

Aurora turned to Ian. “Give Cindy a call later and ask her how she’s doing. It’s been a few days now,and I miss her.”

Ian grunted.

Logan thought Ian felt embarrassed talking about Cindy, so he changed the topic again and told themabout what he was up to. Lola and Sophia went along with it and talked about something else as well.

It wasn’t an enjoyable dinner, but at least it wasn’t a tension-filled one. With Logan around, it wasimpossible for things to get tense.

Ian started out looking all fidgety, but he relaxed after a while, and he even gave John a toast. Johnstarted relaxing as well, realizing that Ian wasn’t tense anymore. Halfway through, he even gave Iansome suggestions about the statements he should make during public appearances so he’d get theupper hand.

The wine ran out eventually, so Logan got a few more bottles.
