Chapter 1590

Since Aurora was unable to find out anything from Cindy as well, she could only sigh indisappointment. Usually, both of them are very chatty, and now they’re equally stubborn. Neither ofthem is making things easy for me, Aurora thought.

As Cindy hadn’t had breakfast, hunger hit her suddenly after sitting down for a while. Turning to Aurora, she asked, “Have you eaten anything yet?”

Aurora hadn’t eaten as well. This morning, she went to Ian’s place with the thought to share breakfastwith him. In the end, she ran into this worrying situation and had been busy until now. novelbin

In reply, she shook her head and said, “Have you eaten? Let’s eat together. Just like what you’ve saidbefore, no matter how upsetting a situation is, we still have to eat.”

That’s right, Cindy thought. I did tell her and Ian something like this before, but I forgot all about it whenit came to myself.

Hence, they went to the restaurant downstairs, and with someone as company, Cindy thought shecould still eat a little even though she didn’t have much appetite.

However, Aurora hadn’t given up on trying to talk her around, and she used the time after ordering thefood as the opportunity. With a sigh, she began, “Ian probably still hasn’t eaten anything yet.” But shesnorted immediately after. “Well, he deserves it. It’s his fault that he has no appetite because he can’teven tell who he should and shouldn’t offend.”

Of course, she was saying all of these for Cindy, but Cindy had nothing to add to that, so she merelyacted as though she hadn’t heard it. Before the food arrived, Aurora’s cell phone beeped a couple of

times.

Her cell phone was placed on the table, so when the screen lit up, Cindy could see that it was Ian whohad sent her a text. Although she didn’t know what the content was, she could guess that it was similarto the texts from before.

Truth be told, she was a little surprised at Ian’s attitude because the texts he sent to Aurora soundedalmost as if he was ready to back down first, which was something Cindy didn’t expect.

Opening the text in front of her, Aurora then burst into a chuckle. “This boy is getting nervous and hisimagination is running wild.” She picked up her cell phone and showed it to Cindy. “I haven’t replied toany of his texts, so he’s getting impatient now. Look, he’s asking if I’ve met you and to let him know if Idid.” Then, she retracted her hand and lowered her head as she smiled playfully. “I’ll tell him I haven’tmet you and see how he’s going to react.”

Her fingers danced across the screen deftly as she typed her reply. Cindy had no idea the exact wordsshe wrote, but she wasn’t interested to find out, either. After sending the text, Aurora placed her phoneon the table again.

With a smug smile on her face, Aurora said, “Listen, come to me if you guys argue again. I’ll hide youaway and scare him.”

Lowering her gaze, Cindy smiled politely but didn’t say anything.

Meanwhile, Ian was on the couch at home with a heavy heart. Since last night, he hadn’t slept a wink

and his head was now buzzing. The image of Cindy’s face from last night—gritting her teeth withreddened eyes when she asked him to leave—kept popping up in his mind.

When he heard her say that word, he was very mad indeed, but when he saw her trying to fight backher tears, all those emotions instantly evaporated.

It had been a while since Cindy started working as his assistant, and while he had seen otherassistants in the company crying because of some disgruntlement, he had never seen Cindy crybefore. Could it be that she had never been through any bad experiences? No, that was not possible.

Putting aside the agency, even when he was filming at other places, Cindy must have been sidelinedwhen she was outside waiting for him to finish. Many times, he would find her in a corner alone after hewas done with filming.

Just like how other people were unfriendly to him, the assistants of other celebrities from differentcompanies must have been rather mean to her as well. Despite that, she had never complained norcried over it.

This was enough to prove how tough she was, but he was so aggressive last night that tears hadwelled up in her eyes. Looks like I really went overboard, he thought.
