Chapter 1566

Ian didn’t answer the door until a while later. It seemed that he had finished washing up.

Cindy said with a sigh, “The matter has gotten a bit serious on the internet. Ms. Jones told us to stayhome today.”

Ian seemed undisturbed, though. “Yeah, the agency called me just now as well. Let’s take today as aday off, then. As it happens, I’m feeling a little tired.”

Cindy had nothing else to say. After some thought, she turned around, went to the kitchen, and startedmaking breakfast. She didn’t get too worked up about things. Perhaps she had gotten into animperturbable state of mind after going through so many things.

Ian didn’t seem to be affected as well, though he had quite a lot of phone calls to answer. His cellphone rang not long after he sat down on the sofa, so he turned around and returned to his room toanswer the call. However, his cell phone rang again soon after he came out of his room, so he wentback in again to answer the call.

Ian had few friends, so Cindy surmised that most of these phone calls were from the agency. Afterpreparing breakfast, she asked Ian to come over for breakfast. Then, she asked, “What did the agencysay? Is the matter tricky to solve? Do you need me to do something?”

Ian waved his hand. “No, that’s not necessary. It seems that the matter hasn’t gotten too serious yet.Besides, most of the attacks are centered on Yulia.”

The surveillance footage had been released as evidence, and it proved that there was nothing wrongbetween Ian and Yulia. However, since Yulia didn’t come forward and explain herself as soon as news

broke about their meeting, she was nearly labeled as an angelic b*tch.

Cindy hesitated for a while before asking, “Did Yulia contact you? I wonder how things are going on herside.” novelbin

Ian replied right away without trying to hide anything, “She called me last night. It seems that she’s alsohaving a hard time. The netizens’ opinion isn’t in her favor, after all.”

Cindy nodded. “I wonder how she’s going to handle this.”

Ian didn’t want to care about Yulia, though. It would seem senseless for him to meddle in someoneelse’s affairs when he hadn’t had his own problems figured out.

The two stayed at home after having breakfast. Perhaps because something was bothering them, neither of them was in a good mood. They used to get along well in the past, but they merely sat facingeach other in silence today.

Ian had quite some phone calls to answer. After a while, he went back to his room to answer thephone, and he’d never come out since then.

Cindy leaned back on the sofa to watch some TV. Naomi was a little busy, so she merely sent Cindy atext message that morning, telling her not to take things too hard.

As a matter of fact, Cindy didn’t take anything to heart. Show business was full of drama every singleday, and many of these incidents were more disturbing than what had happened to Ian. She was evenin the mood to watch two variety shows, and she even laughed out loud when the punchline wasdelivered.

When it was almost noon, Cindy went to knock on Ian’s door. At first, she wanted to ask him what hewanted to eat for lunch, but right after she knocked on Ian’s door, she heard a knock on the door to theapartment. Then, Aurora’s voice rang, asking, “Are you two at home?”

Cindy hurriedly opened the door for Aurora.

Aurora had a pair of sunglasses and even a face mask on, which seemed a bit over-the-top. Cindywaited for her to come in. After closing the door, she asked, “Why did you cover yourself up?”

Aurora let out a sigh before taking off her sunglasses and face mask. “I know that few people know me,but I’m afraid that I’ll cause you trouble by drawing people’s attention when I come over.”

Cindy smiled a reassuring smile. “It’s okay. Things aren’t that bad.”

Meanwhile, Ian opened the door and came out from his room. He was his usual self when he sawAurora. “You’ve seen what’s on the internet? It’s all right. Don’t fret about it.”

Aurora felt somewhat helpless. As she changed her shoes and then went to sit down on the sofa, sheexplained, “That woman was already hospitalized due to serious illness when I got together with yourfather. It was just that her illness kept dragging on and on.” It was indeed wrong of her to carry on with

a married man, but she had definitely not driven Bryce’s wife to death. She wouldn’t do such a thing nomatter how wicked she was.
