So, this is how it feels to be drunk. I have completely lost my memory and don’t remember whathappened before.

It was quite an awful feeling that made Cindy feel quite unreal.

She pinched her eyebrows as she continued to speak with Naomi. “Would you like to take a rest first orhead out for food? Do you want me to accompany you?”

As Naomi actually felt exhausted, she was merely calling Cindy because she did not see Cindy uponreturning from work.

“I’ll take a rest first,” Naomi replied. “I don’t have any appetite now.”

As she was on her toes for the entire day, her head also felt like it weighed a ton. It was no differentfrom being drunk.

“Alright.” After some time, Cindy remembered something else and asked, “Why don’t you come over tomy place? We’ll have dinner here as a mini gathering.”

She got out of bed after hanging up the call with Naomi. Then, she opened the door tentatively andlooked out of the room.

Ian was not in the living room. It seemed that he was resting in his own room.

Cindy heaved a sigh of relief, but she was still quite annoyed.

During lunch earlier, she didn’t think that she drank too much. I can’t believe that I drank until I don’tremember a thing.

As Cindy had drinks with Naomi before, she thought that her alcohol tolerance was quite good. Now, itseems like we should never overestimate ourselves.

She observed the situation at the door for a while before walking out of the room.

The dining table was still not cleaned up yet, so she quickly walked over and took the cutleries to thekitchen to wash.

Naomi would come over for dinner, so Cindy needed to cook two more dishes.

Then, she walked to the fridge to select the ingredients that she needed for dinner.

It was at this moment that Ian walked into the room.

He did not expect Cindy to be outside her room either. As he had just woken up and washed his face,he walked around the entire house.

Unexpectedly, he saw her squatting in front of the fridge while she looked at the food in the freezer.

Then, Ian immediately recalled how it felt when Cindy was in his arms in the afternoon earlier.

She was quite small and thin, so he did not dare to tightly hold her shoulders.

The alcohol that had clearly been digested suddenly seemed to accumulate again.

Ian quickly took a few deep breaths to normalize his expression and gaze.

Apart from that, he also tried to walk in a carefree manner. “You’re up?”

Since Cindy was startled by his words, she almost bounced from the floor.

She squealed before she stammered, “Y-Yeah, I-I’m up now. Um... you were also asleep earlier?”

He nodded and walked to the fridge as well.

Ian opened the door of the fridge and took a bottle of water. “Not at all. After you were drunk, you justwent back to your room and fell asleep. You didn’t even speak a lot.”

With that, she heaved a sigh of relief and smiled. “That’s good.”

He turned around and looked at her. “Why? You can’t remember?”

She desperately scratched her head. “It’s the first time that I became this drunk, so I really can’tremember much.”

Without another word, Ian opened the bottle and drank half of it in one go before he went to sit on thecouch.

Cindy quickly took out the ingredients that she needed for dinner. She didn’t dare to stay in the livingroom for long and hid herself in the kitchen.

Even if he said that she did not make a fool out of herself, she felt quite embarrassed.

After she defrosted the food, she went to tell him that Naomi would be coming over for dinner.

Ian did not mind at all as he nodded. “She’s all alone there, after all. It would be merrier to have onemore person.”

Cindy spoke in a small voice, “Can you call Mrs. Morgan much later to see whether she’s awake?”

He heaved a long sigh before saying, “Alright, I understand.”

With that, they seemed to have nothing else to say.

As it was still quite early, she did not need to start cooking yet.

After walking around in the living room, she went back into her room to hide from him.
