Hence, Cindy woke up late the next morning, unable to tell whether it was a dream or a reality whenshe opened her eyes.
She fumbled for her phone and took a look at it, realizing that it was past the time she usually woke upbecause she didn’t hear the alarm.
Cindy turned to glance at Naomi, who was sound asleep without showing any signs of waking up soon.
She took a deep breath; when she got out of bed for her morning routine, the dream she had last nightcontinued to replay itself in her head.
Although she couldn’t recall everything in the dream, there were some scenes that appeared themoment she tried to remember it. When Naomi woke up, she said that she would be busy for the entire day because there was a bit ofdelay in the work progress for the past two days due to some corporate issues. She did not immediately step inside moments after she opened the door. Instead, she surveyed theliving room. It didn’t seem any different from the time when she left, which made her suspect that hehadn’t been in the living room these few days.
Then, Cindy entered the house and closed the door behind her. The next thing she took notice of wasthe door to Ian’s room, which was left ajar to allow ventilation.
She went over to take a look inside, only to see that his room was clean and neat—just like him.
