Chapter 1484

Her nap was a little long; by the time she woke up, she was bleary-eyed and her mind was hazy.

Cindy walked out of her room. She saw that Ian’s door was ajar, but there was no sight of him in theliving room. Then, she walked over to his door and glanced inside, but he wasn’t inside his room either. She frowned and called, “Ian.”

There was no answer, so he had probably gone out. The first place that Cindy thought Ian could havegone to was his mother’s home. Aurora lived nearby, so Cindy didn’t have to worry about hiswhereabouts. She didn’t bother calling him to ask where he was either—all she did was begin to makedinner. Cindy thought that Ian would not have anyone around tomorrow when she took a break, so sheended up making a lot of food.

Dinner consisted of Ian’s favorite dishes. However, Ian still wasn’t back by the time she finishedcooking. Hence, Cindy whipped out her phone and dialed Ian’s number. In fact, she wanted to ask himif he wanted to call Aurora over for dinner as well. After all, there was plenty of food to go around.

In the end, Ian didn’t answer her call. Cindy called him two more times, but all her calls wentunanswered. She frowned and put down her phone. After staring at the food on the table for a bit,Cindy went to pack her things.

Ian had given her a three-day break, so she’d better think about what she should do. She hadn’tthought of going home. It was too far, and just the trip back and forth would take up an entire day.Hence, three days of leave would not be enough. Besides, she also wanted to meet Gary during one ofthose days. That day spent traveling would be the most harrying day out of those three days, and theremaining two days after that would not be enough for her to run around for other errands.

Cindy remembered that Naomi had called her earlier, saying that she was coming over for a businesstrip. When she thought about it, she hastily phoned Naomi.

Naomi answered rather quickly, a jovial tone in her voice. “Cindy, you’re finally free to call me? Didsomething happen?”

Cindy leaned back on the couch. “Didn’t you say that you’re coming over to this city? When is thathappening?” she asked lazily.

Naomi sighed. “Oh, you. I originally wanted to surprise you, but then you had to call me and ask aboutthis. You’re really not letting me keep an air of mystery.”

Cindy laughed then. “Why? Is it because I asked you straight up?”

Naomi hummed in affirmation. “I should be arriving in the afternoon. I was thinking about asking youout for dinner tomorrow night.”

They really did manage to have their schedules align. “Have you booked your hotel room already? Doyou need me to help you book instead? It just so happens that I’m on break tomorrow too. We canmeet in the afternoon then. I’ll come pick you up,” Cindy quickly said.

Naomi was overjoyed when she heard that Cindy was completely free tomorrow, and she hadn’tbooked a hotel room yet. Initially, she wanted to see where Cindy stayed, so she decided on a hotel

that was close to Cindy’s home. When she heard Cindy offering to book the hotel instead, sheaccepted her help.

Naomi told Cindy the details of her flight and arranged for Cindy to pick her up at the airport the nextday. After some idle chit-chat, they finally hung up.

The call had only just ended when someone opened the door from the outside. Naturally, the suddenintruder was Ian. He was dressed in a black tracksuit with a cap on his head and a mask on his face. novelbin

Cindy hurriedly stood up from the couch. “You haven’t eaten yet, right? Come and have some food. Ijust happened to finish cooking.”

Ian lowered his head to take his shoes off. “I already had dinner outside just now,” he said, his voicelow.

Cindy froze before she immediately asked, “With your mother?”

“Nope. With a friend.” Ian didn’t even look at Cindy as he answered, immediately returning to his roomafter that.

Cindy was even more surprised by this. She really didn’t know that Ian had friends. However, seeingthat Ian didn’t seem to want to go into detail, she didn’t press him for more information. She knew thatIan’s friend was not part of the industry, and that they didn’t live in the same city. She truly couldn’t thinkof anyone else who could have gone to dinner with Ian.

Cindy watched as Ian entered his room and shut the door. After a moment’s pause, she ended upturning around to sit by the dining table.
