Chapter 1474

Ian then glanced at her. “Indeed, you’re taking advantage of me.” novelbin

When she heard that, Cindy couldn’t hold herself back and burst into laughter.

Then, the two of them walked side by side into the studio. This time, the attitude of the people aroundthem was significantly different; some of them even came over and greeted Cindy. Back when thescandal was circulating wildly, the same people were constantly giving her disdainful looks.

Despite that, Cindy lifted her commissures and responded to their questions with a respectful smile,“I’m fine. It’s all good. No problem.”

Among the crowd, a few of them spoke as though they were defending her. “That’s so awful of MissLinda to do that. Not only did she keep quiet, she even tried to manipulate the public. If that’s notstepping on Ian for power, I don’t know what is.”

However, Cindy remained silent as she simply smirked. After all, it wasn’t like she was in a position todo so anyway. Under such circumstances, whatever she said would certainly be overanalyzed. Sinceshe was aware of that, all she could do was react with a beam.

After all, only God knew whether those words were sincere or merely spoken to bait something out ofher. The people would say, “First there was Sena, then there was Linda. Oh, poor Ian, everyone heapproaches is a jinx. By the way, don’t Linda and Ian share a manager? Did they purposely target youbecause of the incident with the resources?”

Cindy maintained her smile. “Honestly, many of the incidents were caused by the marketing team. Ifpeople weren’t blindly spreading the news, things wouldn’t have gone this way.”

With that, the gossipers simply chuckled. “That’s right! These marketers… As if the world isn’t chaoticenough!”

Cindy, who wasn’t actually trained for entertaining such small talk, got a headache after talking to thosepeople. Eventually, she came up with an excuse to sneak out, claiming that she needed to use thebathroom. After standing at the sink in the bathroom for a while, she guiltily scanned around. When shemade sure that no one was around, she started pacing toward the staircase in a hurry.

Since Ian’s program was rather lengthy, Cindy went straight down the stairs. There were many studiosin this building as other programs were also being shot at the same venue. Soon, Cindy grabbed a seatin an unoccupied lounge downstairs and heaved a sigh as she lay against the back of the chair.

After pondering for a while, she sent Ian a text, informing him that she would be downstairs if hecouldn’t find her after the recording. After a short while, someone else came in and sat beside herbefore Ian was done.

Cindy assumed that one of the assistants was looking for a spot to take a break, so when she turnedaround to face the person, she was taken aback. She was so dazed that her eyes were wide open.“Are you perhaps Mr. Gary Frye?”

The man glanced at her. He looked as though he wanted to laugh as he replied, “Why are you sostartled? Am I that scary?”

Cindy hastily waved her hand and denied by saying, “No! It’s not like that.” Although she wanted to

explain herself, she was at a loss for words and forgot what to say.

Gary Frye was not a superstar in the entertainment industry, but he was a famous figure in the financesector.

After mumbling for a while, Cindy finally said, “Are you here to record a show?”

As he rested against the back of the chair, Gary answered, “I had an interview earlier. We just finishedshooting it, so I’m waiting for my driver now.”

Cindy wordlessly nodded her head. Before this, she had watched many of Gary’s interviews. He wasan investment prodigy and hugely popular in the field. Often, he would appear on shows to helpanalyze the current market stocks.

Then, Gary took a look at Cindy. “It’s quite surprising that you’re able to recognize me. There are somany studios and celebrities here. I walked across the entire building, but you’re the only one whorecognized me.”

Cindy scratched her head in embarrassment and replied, “I’ve seen many of your shows, so...”

“Oh,” said Gary as he acknowledged her. He then continued, “I’ve seen your news as well.” Aftersaying that, he laughed out loud. “It was trending like crazy. In fact, I got the notification as soon as Iturned on my phone.”

The woman revealed a helpless expression as she chuckled, “I’m actually a victim myself, and I don’teven dare to check out the news.”

Gary nodded his head and replied, “Well, the media needs to maintain relevance, so they wouldsometimes stir things up just for that. Unfortunately, it’s inevitable for anyone in show business. Evenfor someone like me, who’s not in the entertainment industry, I can’t avoid being the center of attentiontoo.”
