Before Ian could speak, Cindy said, “Sometimes, I think it’s not easy for your mom to live alone. Lookat how happy she was just now. It seems like she’s pretty happy to be able to rely on you.” Obviously,she was moved by Aurora’s expression just now.

Aurora was already waiting at the door when Ian and Cindy returned home later. Moreover, it seemedthat she was taking out her phone to call Ian. When she saw Cindy and Ian coming out of the elevator,she put away her cell phone and greeted, “Hey, I thought you two had gone to the film set. I wasthinking that you two shouldn’t have left so early.”
Ian went over and opened the door. As Aurora entered the house with them, she babbled endlessly,“I’m lucky, ain’t I? I like the first house I inspected after going out. It’s near your place, so we can havemeals together when we’re free. The food Cindy makes is quite delicious, and I like it. Perhaps I cancome over and scrounge meals at your place every once in a while.”
Cindy replied with a chuckle, “Sure.”
Aurora then went over and sat down on the sofa. “I told the landlord that I’ll move into the house withmy luggage this afternoon. I don’t have much baggage with me; my belongings are all in the hotel, so I
can carry them. It’s just that the house isn’t well-equipped, so I’ll probably have to buy some furnitureafter moving there.”
Ian poured himself a glass of water in the kitchen and drank a mouthful of it before asking, “Do youhave enough money?”
Aurora turned to look at Ian in a startled manner, and the corners of her mouth turned up. “Yeah, I do. Idon’t have a lot of money, but I have enough to last for the time being.”
Ian replied with a nod, “That’s good.”
Cindy could tell that Ian still cared about Aurora. It was just that the two had problems opening up toeach other because of what had happened in the past, and it required time for Ian and Aurora to getover the problems between them. After thinking for a moment, she asked, “Do you have a place to gowhen we go out later?”
“Yeah, I do. I’ll go back to my hotel in a while.” Aurora was very happy. “I’ll pack up my stuff beforemoving here. Also, I’ll have to go shopping later.” She looked much better as she spoke of what shewould do next.
Ian and Cindy exchanged glances without saying a word.
When it was about time, the three of them left home together while Cindy carried Ian’s makeup kit. Justthen, Aurora said, “You should carry your own stuff. How could you treat your girlfriend as yourpersonal assistant?”
A startled Ian turned his head and looked at Aurora before looking at Cindy.
Cindy pressed her lips together as she handed over the makeup kit right away. “You should carry yourown stuff.”
Ian felt like laughing. Still, he took the makeup kit from Cindy right away.
The chauffeur was already waiting downstairs. Ian and Cindy got into the car, whereas Aurora wobbledout of the neighborhood and took a taxi back to her hotel.
Cindy looked outside as she sat in the car. Aurora had really taken good care of her health and herbeauty, and such a person was qualified to be a celebrity.
On the other hand, Ian leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes after getting into the car.
Cindy looked at him carefully. For some reason, she was suddenly moved to pity. It seemed that shehad slowly realized that his indifference was actually nothing but a facade. Probably due to his family’sinfluence on him, he wasn’t good at expressing his feelings. Such a man, who pretended to beindifferent, made people feel sorry for him.
