Chapter 505 Start Of The Shooting Party

Chapter 505 Start of the Shooting Party

Lily was startled. She then looked at Laura's photo with some jealousy.

The woman in the photo had sparkling eyes and shining teeth. She looked both sweet and seductively

charming.

Her facial features were very exquisite. Even in this photo with a plain background, she looked like a

star in a fashion shoot. She indeed had a strong vibe.

Lily showed a dark look on her face. Feeling more and more jealous, she nodded, "Yes. That's her."

"OK." Peter put away his phone and nodded pensively.

"Now that this woman bullied my dear niece, I gotta teach her a lesson," Peter thought to himself.

Three days later, Laura went back to work.

A week after that, she finished all the tasks she left before. The next month, she would focus on

studying the script.

Before receiving the script, Laura already flipped through the novel which this show was based on

when she had time at work.novelbin

The story happened in a fictional dynasty. In a troubled time, the female lead, Nichole Westmore, who

was the daughter of a general, resolutely ran away from home and joined the army to protect her

country. As the first female soldier, she fought side by side with the male lead, Howard Forstall, on the

battlefield, and eventually safeguarded her country.

It included tactics in war, contentions at home, and the game to seize power in the imperial court. Laura

was amazed by the storyline and held spellbound by the author's excellent story-telling skills.

Such a complicated novel that comprised so many elements was not something an ordinary novelist

could write.

And the author's portrayal of the characters was extremely accurate. That was very difficult to achieve.

Of course, the leads were vividly depicted. That was one of the basic elements of a good novel.

But even all the supporting roles were precisely portrayed, whether it was a big part or not.

The workload of creating this story must be enormous. Laura was daunted just trying to imagine.

Thus, after looking through the entire script, Laura closed her laptop in amazement and dialed Isaac's

number.

"Thank you for helping me get a part in such a great show. I've read the novel. It's fabulous and also

challenging. But I believe I won't mess it up."

Isaac was reading some files in his office. When he got Laura's call, he immediately put down the files

and walked to the window. Watching the flow of traffic outside, he suddenly felt calm and at ease. He

remarked, "We're friends. You don't need to thank me."

Laura shook her head and said in a soft voice, "No, I should. You've done me such a big favor."

Isaac looked a little blue. But his tone was still caring and sweet. "OK. Go study your role. You don't

have much time."

Laura nodded and said, "OK."

After hanging up, Laura glanced at the call records on the screen. Then, she put the phone aside and

continued to study the script.

A month passed in the blink of an eye.

During the whole month, Laura cooped herself up in her apartment, studying the mentality of the role

she was going to play.

Nichole was an independent and visionary woman.

As the daughter of a general, she didn't center her life on her husband and children as every other

woman in that era did. Instead, she focused on the responsibility and calling of that era.

She lived in a troubled time. Though the emperor was not fatuous, he was too young to control the

ministers who all had their own agendas.

The young emperor took the throne at the critical point of the change of power. He had to fight against

wicked and phony officials while protecting those who were loyal to him.

Just at this juncture, Nichole appeared.

For the lack of reinforcement and provision, her father died in a battle against the opponent country five

years ago.

After losing her father, the breadwinner in her family, Nichole did not give up hope or let the rest of her

family be bullied by others.

She chose to protect her family while trying to learn martial arts. She hoped that one day, she could

take over her father's position and avenge her father on the battlefield.

That was no picnic.

As a woman, Nichole had to take care of her family. But she also needed to practice in the arena. If

Nichole was fighting this fight alone, she wouldn't be able to hold on for long.

Thankfully, the women in the Westmore family were not weak. They saw Nichole's toil and stepped up

to help her safeguard their family.

Thus, Nichole had more time to practice her fighting skills.

At this point, Howard, the male lead, began to approach Nichole.

Howard was the successor trained by the former right-hand man of Nichole's father, James Westmore.

So naturally, Howard was more eager to see the Westmores get back to their feet than anyone else.

But he didn't dare to get too close to the Westmores.

He suspected that someone in the imperial court was actually working for the opponent country. That

person was high and mighty, and would take whatever it took to wipe out the Westmores' former

followers.

Before James died, he forced Howard to swear that he wouldn't defend the Westmores. If it weren't for

that, Howard would have probably also been...

Yes, all the Westmores' old followers who put in a good word for the Westmores had been framed. With

concrete evidence proving their sins, the emperor had to execute them.

Howard had discussed with the emperor why that person, who was so powerful that he had become a

threat to the ruler of the country, had still let the emperor stay in power.

They discussed this over and over again, but they didn't figure it out.

In the end, the emperor could only help Howard to go into hiding. When it was safe, he would tell

Howard to show up and protect the Westmore family.

If Howard took the liberty to help the Westmores, though the emperor wouldn't say anything about this,

he and the emperor would both worry that he might be persecuted.

That was why Howard pretended that he had no interest in the Westmores' affairs during the five years.

It was not until Nichole defeated the head of the imperial army that Howard saw a glint of hope on her.

Because of this, Howard began to really get to know Nichole. That was where the whole story began.

After organizing the storyline in her head, Laura thought she had grabbed the gist of her role.

Nichole was gentle but resilient. She fought and struggled against the injustice in the world. She made

great contributions to her country in that turbulent era.

That was how Laura saw Nichole. It was also how Laura saw the world she was living in.

After doing her makeup and picking her outfit, she went to the place that Maria told her to go.

Today, the crew was holding a party for the beginning of the shooting. As the female lead, Laura

certainly should dress herself up.

After arriving at the venue, she told the waiter the number of the booked private room and followed the

waiter in.

It was on the second floor. After she went upstairs, the waiter politely opened the door for her.

"Thanks," Laura said and took a glance at the inside of the room.

She saw a large group sitting around a table.

Laura's brows furrowed. She was a little overwhelmed.
