Chapter 7

Chapter 7

In Neville’s eyes, Madison seemed to be an irremovable irritant, and everything she did was to attracthis attention.

It was all because she loved him so humbly that caused Neville to have the illusion that he wasindispensable in her life.

Madison took a deep breath, trying to keep her tone calm. “Neville, I was unreasonable, always fixatedon things I couldn’t have. But now, I’ve come to my senses and just want a divorce, giving you backyour freedom,” she said.

Neville seemed to interpret her words as complaints. His thin lips tightened. “Madison, have I been toonice lately, making you forget your place?”

Madison chuckled at his question. “I’m seriously discussing our divorce, and you think I’m joking withyou.”

Neville coldly glanced at her. “You better put away your coy tricks. Even as a spectator, I find ittiresome

Madison felt she and this arrogant man were on completely different wavelengths, unable tocommunicate. Irritated, she drank a glass of water in one go.

Neville looked at her and reminded her, “I just drank from that…”

Madison realized she had taken the wrong glass in her anger. ‘Neville would probably think I wasplaying another trick to seduce him, she thought.

Indeed, when she looked up, she saw mockery in Neville’s eyes.

“Madison, I offered you a name and wealth through our marriage, and you played the role of Mrs.Preston. It was a transaction where both of us got what we needed. It was a fair trade. So, don’tentertain any illusions,” Neville stated coldly.

Madison’s patience had been worn thin within the confines of the Preston family. She glared at him withanger and retorted, “And what exactly do you think I wanted?”

Neville impatiently pulled at his collar and said, “Letting you be my wife is already my greatestconcession. Don’t harbor any illusions about winning my heart.

Madison almost exploded, but she restrained herself. “Mr. Preston, how could you think that way?”

Neville sneered, “Back then, you were willing to marry into the Preston family at any cost, desiring itswealth and glory. Now, you ask for a divorce without wanting anything. Are you trying to make me feelpity for you?”

She didn’t want anything for the divorce because she didn’t want to disgust herself with what belongedto the Preston family. Besides, she was competent. Why would she need the Preston family’s charity?

Since Neville misunderstood, Madison had to get something out of it.

Trying to suppress her anger, Madison said, “Mr. Preston, I was wrong. I do want something now.”

Neville’s eyes showed certainty that he had seen through everything. He was contemplating whether togive Madison a way out as she said, “I want to get back the wedding gift Sapphire gave me

Neville’s face instantly darkened.

Madison, sensing Neville’s reluctance to let go, said softly, “When I married into the Preston family, theGuzman family didn’t provide me with anything. The wedding was treated as a mockery by thePrestons. They didn’t even bother to prepare a gift for me, and I had to hastily make my own wedding

dress overnight. The only gift I received was from Sapphire. She selflessly bestowed upon me herentire medicinal field as a wedding gift…“.

Madison’s voice quivered, overcome by the memories of her pitiful wedding. Everyone had treated heras a joke, with some even betting that she wouldn’t last three days in the Preston family.

It was only Sapphire, her foster mother, who had wholeheartedly arranged everything for Madison, going so far as to

contribute her sole possession as a wedding gift, hoping it would give Madison some confidence withinthe Preston family.

However, that medicinal field was a heritage of the Rhodes family for generations, and the Prestonfamily obviously didn’t value it. Over the years, the medicinal field had been lying idle.

Since Madison had left the Preston family, she would help Sapphire reclaim the property.

Neville felt a strange discomfort in his chest when he heard the suppressed tone in her throat.

Back then, he had a strong aversion to the wedding and didn’t even attend, and he didn’t realize thatthe Guzman family was so harsh to her.

But when he thought she was reluctant to part with the medicinal field, he felt displeased. “Dream on!”he coldly said.

Madison was speechless. The Preston family had no involvement in the herbal business, and themedicinal field was useless to them. Even so, he wouldn’t let go.

Forget it. She would figure out another way later.

To avoid seeing him, Madison closed her eyes again.

She was used to her own bed; sleeping in a strange place never settled well with her. But now, feelingdrowsy, Madison quickly fell into a deep sleep.

Neville, with a cold face, flipped through the documents. At this moment, a small head leaned on hisshoulder.

He pursed his thin lips and covered her with a blanket, allowing her head to rest on his shoulder.

She’s such a hypocrite, he thought, asking for a divorce but still seeking comfort by leaning on myshoulder.

After the plane landed, the two walked towards the cabin door, one in front and one behind.

To avoid getting too close to him, Madison intentionally slowed down her pace.

Neville didn’t look back, and the two walked as strangers.

Seeing Neville follow the airport staff out of the plane, Madison breathed a sigh of relief. However,Neville suddenly turned around and walked towards her with a cold expression.

Madison’s nerves tightened. She raised an eyebrow and asked, “Mr. Preston, is there anything elseyou want?”

Neville frowned at her that way. “Madison, I’ll give you another three days to consider.”

Madison thought, ‘Does he think there is still room for discussion in our marriage? Isn’t the divorce awin–win situation? He can dump me and marry his sweetheart. But how come he acts like it’s meforcing him to make a decision?”

Madison was about to explode, but facing Neville’s powerful aura, she calmly said, “Alright, I’ll considerit in these three days. Please don’t disturb me, Mr. Preston.”

Given Neville’s methods, if he wanted to find her, it would be effortless. However, she was goingabroad this time for business and didn’t want this man to spoil her mood.

Neville’s eyes darkened a bit as he turned away.

After a while. Ross appeared at the airport. Seeing Madison, he leaned on her, saying, “Madison, I’vebeen eagerly awaiting your arrival. Fliwip insists on meeting Elianna Atkins in person.

Elianna was Madison’s name in the design world. She became the chief designer of Loveille with thattitle.

The Loveille fashion brand was named after the candy Neville gave her back then.

But from now on, she was going to infuse the brand with a new concept.

Not far away. Neville stared coldly at the two figures getting into the car.

Bernard asked nervously, “Mr. Preston, should we invite Miss Guzman into the car?”

Neville sneered. “What right does she have?”

He wouldn’t care about a woman who didn’t uphold her dignity.

Bernard instructed the driver to start the car.novelbin

After the car drove for a while, Neville suddenly ordered the driver to stop.

Changing seats with the driver, Neville turned the car abruptly, heading straight for the flashy redFerrari.

A screeching sound was heard.
