Chapter 40

Chapter 40

As one of the leading families of Norxton, the Preston family attracted widespread attention as soon asthe recording was posted online. And the recording quickly dominated the trending topics on majorwebsites.

Daisy’s arrogance instantly sparked public outrage. The headlines of the news were exceptionally eye–catching in order to attract more views, like “Heiress of the elite family uses the vulgar language” and“The Preston family withholding maid’s salary for three years“.

Daisy, along with the Preston family, instantly became the center of criticism.

“The Preston family is so mean. Even if a maid has the right to receive payment for her labor. Notpaying is one thing, but insulting her on top of it.”

“What’s even more ridiculous is that the lady actually said providing free service for the Preston familyis the maid’s honor. Shameless!”

“Everyone is equal now. What right does she have to look down on others? I think she’s the one with adespicable and lowly nature.””

Numerous people denounced Daisy.

Before Madison reached home, she received a call from Norna. “Madison, well done. I’ve detestedDaisy for a long time. Should I help you post those videos as well?”

“No need. When this matter turns into a laughing stock, someone will release the videos.”

“Yeah, it saves us trouble. I did you a favor. Come buy me a drink, will you?”

Thinking that since Norna had returned, Madison had never met her, so Madison agreed.

After Norna sent her the address, Madison instructed Timothy to stop the car. Then, she took a taxistraight to the bar. Places like bars mixed with different people, and being too conspicuous could leadto trouble.

Upon arriving at the bar, Norna poured a full glass of red wine for Madison. “Madison, it’s not easy toask you out. If it weren’t for Daisy, you might not have contacted me.”

Madison smiled apologetically. In these three years, she had been overwhelmed by household choresevery day,

leaving all the business matters to Margaret and Ross. She only intervened in significant matters, andshe had no time to manage her own social circle.

“I’m sorry. I was too busy.”

Madison clinked glasses with Norma and finished the red wine. She wasn’t particularly adept athandling alcohol, and after just a single glass of red wine, her cheeks began to flush.

Noma refilled Madison’s glass and said, “What’s so good about your ex–husband? You actually gaveup your work for him for three years. No wonder your master is so angry with you.”

The red wine filled her throat, carrying the bitterness.

Madison smiled. “Perhaps I was misguided.”

“So, are you back on the right path now?”

“Yes.” Madison’s gaze was sharp as she clinked glasses with Norna. “And I’ll be reborn from theashes.”

“Great, since you’ve chosen not to dwell on the past, let’s look forward to the future. Madison, come toCollins with me. You’re more talented than me, and you’re our master’s proudest disciple. I’ll help youto become the chief designer at Collins, and together, we can elevate Collins to the top luxury brandglobally.”

“Norna, thank you, but I want to return to Loveille.”

Madison needed to regain her brilliance with her abilities.

Norna had heard about the competition between Loveille and the Conner Group.

Collins and Fliwip ranked among the top three luxury brands in the world. Norna’s choice of Fliwip overCollins night have been to avoid suspicion.

She knew Madison too well. Once Madison made a decision, she would give it her all,

Madison, I believe in you. In my eyes, you’ve always been at the pinnacle of the design world. Now, it’sjust a

natter of reclaiming that peak. Alison only dares to challenge you out of her ignorance.”

ust as they were talking, the door of the private room was suddenly kicked open.

Daisy stood at the doorway in a rage and shouted, “Bitch, you had planned this!”

After the recording was pushed to the top of the trending list, various videos of Kara and othersprovoking and insulting Madison were successively uploaded online.

To wash off their own suspicions, Kara and Raquel unified their statements, accusing Daisy of beingthe mastermind.

The videos went viral online, and Daisy was severely criticized by netizens.

If this wasn’t stopped in time, the Preston family might also be affected.

Daisy was feeling frustrated and wanted to have a drink with her friends, but she didn’t expect to meetMadison.

Even more surprising was that Collins‘ designer Norna was also present, and she seemed to have aclose relationship with Madison.

Daisy started to understand the truth.

Daisy thought ‘

Daisy thought, ‘Madison was carrying genuine Collins products, but she deliberately provoked Karaand others with the bet. It must be Norna who gave her the video.”

When Daisy applied for a VIP at Collins, she was said to be unqualified. To please Norna, she invitedNorna to the socialite group in Norton. As such, it was safe to say Norna was well aware of thosevideos she had posted, as well as her mockery of Madison.

Madison and Norna collaborated to plot against Daisy. As a result, Daisy was being scolded anddenounced by

the netizens.

Daisy was enraged but dared not offend Norna. So all her anger was vented on Madison.

Holding an opened bottle of red wine, Daisy was about to pour it over Madison when Madison suddenlygrabbed her wrist and poured the red wine all over Daisy.

“Ouch! How dare you do this to me?” Daisy screamed and stomped her feet in anger.

Madison looked at her coldly and said, “Ms. Preston, please behave yourself and get lost!”

Daisy was soaked in red wine from head to toe. She said furiously, “Bitch, I command you to delete allthe videos

and apologize to me publicly!”

Norna chuckled. “I’ve never heard of a victim apologizing to the perpetrator. Is this the family style ofthe Preston family?”

Daisy glared at Madison and said, “You know what you’ve done. Don’t force me to expose you, or theone who will have a miserable end is you!”

Madison mocked with a smile, “Ms. Preston, what kind of apology do you want me to make?”

Daisy, thinking she had already intimidated Madison, said, “That’s easy. Just say that we were justmaking videos. Everything was according to the script. And ask everyone to stop spreading therumors!”

Madison secretly sneered. If it were as Daisy said, Madison would become the target of public criticism. That excuse was really something Daisy could come up with.

Seeing Madison remaining silent, Daisy leaned in and whispered, “If you listen to me, I might even helpyou return to the Preston family.”
