Chapter 629

He hesitated for a moment before he asked, "Maybe Mr. Roberts is stuck in the traffic?"

My mind froze before I finally realized what was going on. Hendrix had promised to come back for

lunch at 12.30 p.m., and it was already 12.28 p.m. Seeing how serious he was, I couldn't help but

laugh.

"I know the road would be busy!" As soon as I finished my sentence, footsteps could be heard from

outside the yard. Soon, Hendrix entered the house.

He stood in front of me, with his forehead covered in sweat. It seemed that he was in a hurry to return

home.

His black orbs shined brightly as he said, "12.29 p.m. I'm not late, right!"

I couldn't help but laugh. I stood on my tiptoes and wiped the sweat off his face. I asked, "Did you run

back?" The weather was so hot, he must have sweated a lot.

He smiled while taking off his jacket and said, "I was training my body!"

"There's no need to be in such a hurry next time. I'm right here, I won't run away," I said while I wiped

his sweat. There was a warm feeling in my heart.

He smiled and said, "I know, but I wanted to see you sooner!"

I smiled. I didn't expect those sweet words to come out of his mouth. Then, Anne ran in and hugged

him. She said in a soft voice, "Mr. Roberts, is your body not well? Why are you training?"

The innocent Anne did not know what she was implying. Hendrix picked her up as he looked at me with

an intense gaze. He said, "Uncle has always been healthy!"

Rosa had prepared the meal and Hendrix went upstairs to take a bath. After he came down, he had

something in his hands, which looked like a bag of documents.

He told Evan as he handed the documents to him, "You'll handle the admission procedures for Anne's

school, and you will send her to school in a few days."

Evan took the documents and left. Hearing his words, Anne sighed with her hands on her chin, looking

a little upset.novelbin

Of course, he noticed it and couldn't help but asked, "Don't you want to go to school?"

Anne shook her head and said, "It's not that I don't want to. It's just that I don't know anyone there, I'll

be alone!"

This child feared being alone the most. I smiled and said, "Anne, you can make new friends at the new

school!"

She frowned but didn't say anything else.

Hendrix's arrangements for Anne's schooling had been very well done, so I never worried too much.

At night, I went into the bedroom to unpack the clothes that I brought from Hovell. They were cheap

clothes, but they were so comfortable. I got used to them already.

After Hendrix had dealt with his work, he came in and saw me packing away my clothes. He walked up

to me, took the clothes from my hands, and said with a smile, "I'll do it!"

His fingers were slender and long, and he wore an expensive watch. I couldn't believe that I could live

the rest of my life peacefully because those hands signed the contracts.

He saw that I was lost in thought. He raised his head, looked at me tenderly, and asked, "What are you

thinking about?"

I put the clothes he folded back in the closet and replied, "Since Anne's school had already been

decided, I should start looking for a job and go back to work as usual."

He nodded, but that didn't mean he agreed. He said, "You could always rest for a few more days."

I frowned and said, "It's been more than half a month. It's almost time anyways."

He didn't argue with me. Instead, he turned around and pulled me along to sit on the bed with him. He

asked gently, "Think about it, how about returning to Roberts Group?"

He smiled, looking convinced. He replied, "What do you want to do?"
