Chapter 627

I frowned and said nothing more. Had Hendrix become softer and gentler? Not at all. In fact, for the

past four years, his methods became more insidious and cruel.

However, he became better at concealing his emotions compared to before. He gave all his warmth

and love to me, which was also the only warmth he had.

Back at the villa, Anne was squatting in the yard, playing with a furry poodle.

I was stunned. I couldn't help but turn toward Hendrix's direction and said, "Did you bring her here?"

He nodded and replied, "After I finished the work here, I went back to Jarold City. I've already arranged

a school for Anne. We'll take her with us to have fun during this period of time."

Seeing that we had returned, Anne rushed over to me and said excitedly, "Mom, can I keep it?"

She pointed and gestured at the brown poodle. It looked like it was about three months old, still a small

puppy.

I frowned and was about to turn her down when Hendrix spoke, "Once you're busy in the future, it can

accompany Anne. She needs companions, after all."

After coming back from Hovell, Anne seemed to have become quieter. Before, when she was with

Bennett, she would always run her mouth. However, after leaving Hovell, she seemed to have less

things to say.

It was good to let her raise a dog, since she had to change environments so suddenly and she had no

friends.

I nodded in agreement.

The food had already been prepared. Minnie Parker was old and had retired, so Hendrix hired a new

servant.

It was a middle-aged woman whose name was Rosa.

It didn't take long for Evan to come over. Hendrix sat in the living room without any intention to avoid

him.

Evan sounded a little nervous but still he said, "Mr. Roberts, I was negligent on today's matters. What

are you going to do about Sierra Noland?"

Hendrix was fiddling with his phone as he spoke with a hint of coldness in his tone, "She is already

considered unqualified as a star. Since she has been popular for four years, it's time to give the

younger people a chance."

Evan froze for a second before nodding and said, "Okay, how should I deal with her mother, Sammy

Clark?"novelbin

Hendrix's brows knitted together as his handsome face darkened. "It's up to you to deal with this!"

After a pause, he looked up at Evan and frowned. "Choose the actors for the publicity film again, and

pick someone who's good."

Evan nodded, then looked at me before leaving.

Anne seemed to like the poodle very much. She named it Snowball, and kept talking to it while holding

it in her arms.

I looked at Hendrix and said, "Actually, there's no need for you to lay her off. Nothing serious has

happened to me, so it's not necessary to do so!"

He smiled and took one of the hard-boiled eggs that Rosa had prepared into his palms, trying to cool it

down. He got close to me, peeled off the eggshell, and rubbed the egg on my face to treat the bruises.

In fact, Sammy's strike wasn't that bad, and most of the bruises were already gone, but Hendrix was

just too anxious.

"They needed to get some sense knocked into them!" he said casually.

Glancing at the kitchen, he saw that Rosa had finished cooking. He got up while carrying Anne

and took me into the dining room.

Anne reluctantly looked at her doughnut, but the little baby seemed to want it very much.

Then she sighed and walked over to the child's mother and asked, "Excuse me, can I give this to the

baby boy?"

The woman was surprised for a moment before nodding with a smile.

After giving away the doughnut, I did not know if Anne was looking at the child or at her beloved

doughnut.

Returning to me and Hendrix, she looked at me and asked, "Mom, will you give birth to a younger

brother for me in the future?"
