Chapter 570

During the weekend, I went out earlier in the morning. Anne was still too young, so I couldn't take her to

the cemetery.

Hence, I drove to the cemetery alone.

It was almost March. The morning sun was not too bright nor too hot. Perhaps because it rained

before, large dews could be seen outside.

The cemetery was relatively empty since it was still early in the day. The only visitors there were seen

taking turns stepping on the bluestone slabs and praying to their deceased loved ones.

Standing in front of Grandma's tombstone and looking at her photo that had started to fade, I was lost

in thought for a long time.

"Grandma, I think I've ruined my life. All of you have left and I'm all alone now. Please help take care of

my child on the other side..."

I tried not to focus too much on the aching in my heart as I took a deep breath and stopped talking. The

dead continued to rest in peace while the living continued living healthily.

When I noticed that someone was behind me, my body stiffened. I instinctively knew that it was

Hendrix.

I didn't turn around at first, but after a long time, I sighed in defeat and turned anyway. I didn't look at

him at all as I walked out of the cemetery.

As I walked past him, he suddenly reached out to grab me on my arm. I was startled for a short

moment. Then, I shook off his hand. I stared at him coldly, with no joy nor sorrow in my eyes. I told him,

"It's alright if you don't want to sign the divorce papers. As long as we live separately for three years,

the divorce will automatically be accepted."

He curled his lips and lowered his gaze, "Is there any way we can go back to before?"

I looked down and hid my emotions well. Then, I gazed up at him and beamed, "When you lied to me,

you should've known that we would get to where we are now."

He stared at me, his eyes were so deep that they made me shiver, "Do you hate me?"

With a gentle grin, I responded calmly, "Hendrix, I don't hate you. But that's all I feel for you, a mere

lack of hate."

Some things had to end in order for a person to move on.

I kept a distance away from him, and didn't look at his face again. I said harshly, "If you've ever loved

me, Hendrix, then I beg you to keep that in your mind and let me go. Let's part ways and live our own

separate lives happily."

I turned my back away to exit the graveyard. By the time I reached the Bronzy Condo, the sky had

already started to turn dark.

Before opening the door, I heard a voice from the inside. It was Valerie's.

I opened the door.

Sure enough, Valerie and Pedro were sitting in the living room and were coaxing Anne. When they saw

me, they were both surprised and immediately straightened their back. They looked like two children

who had been caught doing something that they weren't supposed to be doing.

"You're...back!" Valerie greeted. She looked a bit nervous, but her gaze looked more conflicted than

anything else.

I pursed my lips and nodded lightly. Seeing that Ian and Sawyer were not around, I asked, "Did they go

out?"

"No!" Valerie replied, "Mr. Shelley's in the baby's room while Sawyer went out to buy something."

I nodded and didn't say anything else.novelbin

When Anne noticed me, she stretched out her hands to me, wanting me to hug her. I took her over and

sat on the sofa.

Valerie and Pedro looked at each other with dissent in their eyes.

They seemed to have something to tell me. I continued on with my silence while I played with Anne in

my arms.

I nodded without giving any other response.

She was startled and didn't know what to say for a while.

On the other hand, Pedro commented angrily, "It's good to divorce him. His actions would eventually

ruin and destroy our family."

Valerie frowned slightly. For a moment, she seemed lost for words. She peered at me and sighed,

"What plans do you have for the future?"
