Chapter 505

He wasn't expecting to be pushed away. He forcibly took two steps back and didn't come forward

anymore. Instead, he poured his eyes into mine.

The air was filled with viscous coldness. I thought that he would be enraged and yell at me.

Surprisingly, he didn't!novelbin

We locked eyes and stared at each other for the longest time. Then, he suddenly tore his gaze away

before leaving.

I didn't know how all this happened. He did treat me well, and he did care for me. I knew all this and

yet, how did things turn out this way?

Drop by drop, my tears fell to the ground.

Before he left the bedroom, I stepped forward and abruptly hugged him from the back. I then pleaded

hoarsely, "Don't go!"

His body stiffened as he stopped in his tracks, allowing me to freely hold him in my arms.

"I'm sorry!" I cried as I buried my head on his back.

He was silent. He didn't utter a word to me, as if he was waiting for me to speak.

After a long while, he held onto my hands which were snaked tightly around his waist. Then, he turned

towards me and stared at me emotionless. "If you're asking me to stay just because you want to

apologize, then that's not necessary."

I looked at his well-defined face, and I let myself gaze at him for a while longer.

He raised his hand to tuck a few loose strands of hair behind my ear. He lowered his head and planted

a light kiss on my lips. "Stop bothering yourself with the Granger and Miller family affairs."

I was surprised by his actions and quickly withdrew my hands. He immediately reached out to pull my

hands into his palm. He nudged, "Hmm?"

The Granger family's matters had nothing to do with me. Even when it came to the Miller family's

affairs, it was unnecessary for me to bother myself with it as well.

However, Hendrix's idea of not meddling in their affairs and my idea of it were completely different. I

owed Irvin my life. Thus, if anything were to happen to the two elders of the Miller family or if they ever

needed me, I would definitely be there for them.

In short, there was no way I could ignore them.

"Hendrix!" I withdrew my hand from his and said,

"I'm sorry."

Cold sternness flashed across his eyes instantly.

"You don't have to apologize." His voice sounded stiff as he said this.

I sighed. At this moment, I was like a deflated balloon. I looked up at him and said weakly, "Hendrix,

let's get a divorce!"

This had nothing to do with Irvin or Andrea. Something between him and I just...cracked.

He grabbed my shoulder with great strength and set his black eyes on me without blinking. He pressed

his lips tightly together as if he was trying his hardest to control his emotions. "In your dreams!"

He yelled through gritted teeth.

After letting go of me, he took a step back. He took one last glance at me before turning to leave.

I immediately pinched the space between my eyebrows. The headache had started again.

Looking at the clothes that he tossed around the room, I felt irritated. I tried to calm myself down as I

leaned down to pick the clothes up.

I continued packing what I needed into the suitcase.

Once I was done, I sat on my bed and booked myself a ticket to Ucrebury the next day.

Perhaps I was all out of energy after pulling all-nighters back-to-back, so I immediately dozed off after

purchasing the ticket.

I thought I could definitely sleep till dawn, but that was just wishful thinking. When Hendrix returned, it

was around two in the morning and I didn't even know when he entered the bedroom.

I was awakened by the sound of running water in the bathroom. Soon after the sound of water stopped,

I felt Hendrix lifting the quilt before he laid down next to me.

His body felt slightly cool but dry while his hair was still damp. He stretched his arms out and wrapped

them around my waist. I stiffened my body as my back pressed against his tight chest.

We were so close to one another that I could smell the scent of hormones mixed with the scent of

shower gel on his body.

I curled my lips and tried to move my body away from him. He pressed me down and put his chin on

my shoulder. His voice was low and magnetic as he commanded, "Sleep!"

Not long after, I could hear his shallow breaths beside me. Had he fallen asleep?
