Chapter 503

Surprised by my question, she paused for a moment before saying, "I was just about to talk to you

about this. Aren't you and Mr. Roberts going to go back to Ucrebury? I have to go back tonight. What

are you guys planning to do here on New Year's Eve?"

I shook my head and said, "I guess we'd be going back to Ucrebury too!"

She knitted her brows and pointed out, "Arianna, didn't you just enter the Reid family's registry? So, it

would be more appropriate for you to be with the Reid family for New Year's.

I totally forgot about the Reid family. A headache started at the back of my head as distress set in.

"Well, I'll have to think about how to make arrangements for this year."

After I had breakfast, I went to the Granger Group. Mr. Hathaway came to Jarold City as he planned to

have annual vacation after the annual meeting.

After contacting him in advance, he waited for me in his office. When he saw me, he said, "The Al

products had a new breakthrough. We will organize the launch after New Year. If all goes well, Granger

Group will dominate the Al market."

I was aghast. I didn't expect him to give me such a big surprise. I couldn't help laughing and told him,

"This is probably the happiest news I've heard this year. Please make the arrangements, let everyone

go home to celebrate New Year after the annual meeting. We'll organize the product launch after Newnovelbin

Year."

He nodded and left after handing me the document. For a while, I just stood in the office, stuck in a

daze.

I had initially come to the Granger Group with the goal of taking over Fantasia Company in order to

compete with the Moore family's business. However, this seemed unnecessary now.

Even so, this had been done and the outcome turned out to be unexpectedly great. It was just

that...Irvin was not here anymore. Without him, I couldn't help but feel a little lost.

When I came out from Granger Group, I called Charles on the phone. When he answered, I invited him

to have lunch with me.

It was already the year end, so most people had already gone off on their annual holiday. Charles was

temporarily free from his busy schedule as he had just returned from inspecting several provinces and

regions.

At the restaurant.

After ordering our meal, Charles stared at me and said, "Have you made arrangements for annual

vacation? I heard from Aaron that you are going back to Ucrebury. Is there anyone else of importance

there?"

I nodded as I looked at him, "Yes, a good friend of mine, along with a child left by my deceased friend.

That child is still too young to fly back and forth, so I plan to go back to Ucrebury this year. Dad, you

won't blame me for not being around to celebrate New Year's Eve with you, right?"

He beamed, "My daughter, I've come to lunch mentally prepared. I knew that this is what you want to

do, and I've gotten used to it since it happens every year. Did something happen between you and

Hendrix?"

I was taken aback but shook my head slightly in response. "No, we're fine!"

He frowned and advised me, "My daughter, you guys are a married couple. You've already become

one from the moment you exchanged wedding rings. No matter how many problems you guys

encounter in the future, you will have to be of one mind. Quarrels are very common. Young people like

you guys have your own opinions, so you all will follow your own temper when communicating and to

get along with each other." "However, this is just a running-in process. You can't divorce him just over a

fight or other problems. Marriage is not a trifling matter. It's not something you can let go of so easily.

Hendrix is a smart businessman, but there is no perfect person. I can tell that he cares a lot about you."

I nodded and understood what he was trying to say. I asked, "Dad, how's the Moore family doing?"

Noticing that I had changed the topic, he smiled and said helplessly, "As for the Moore family, you're

safe as long as Pedro doesn't say anything. However, it's strange. The Moore family still hasn't made

any moves even after last night's incident. It seems that other than suppressing the media and major

media websites, they haven't pulled anything against you."

I pursed my lips and was entangled with Moore family's actions. I couldn't help but think, "Are they

planning a bigger scheme?"

After chatting with Charles for a while, I went to the Miller family's house in the afternoon and met with

the two elders of the family.

It was already late when I returned to the villa. I was surprised to find Hendrix sitting in the living room

leisurely reading a book.

Since no one would get into a fight without talking, I decided to go straight upstairs. Without Minnie, the

villa was as empty as ghost town.

"Since you have visited the two elders of the Miller family, are you planning to go to the graveyard

tomorrow to visit the three of them?" Hendrix's voice was cold and chilly.

I curled my lips, unfazed by what he said to me. I just answered, "Mr. Roberts, you seem to know a lot,

don't you?"
