I stared at the ambiguous pictures on the screen and said, "We've been quarreling for a few days,
what's wrong?"novelbin
"Nothing, I was at the Emperor Club just now and I saw him. Why isn't he with you? Why did he come
out to have fun in the middle of night?" I laughed as soon as he finished his words.
"You're really easing into that brotherly role these days. You even worried about my marriage."
He snorted and commented sulkily, "Don't tease me. Don't you know what your man is doing with
another woman in his arms right now? Aren't you anxious?"
This TV series was not bad and I had been watching it in the highest of spirits. I switched my position
and replied him, "He's an adult and not a child anymore. If he's feeling crappy because of our fight, I
may be able to control him for a while but I can't control him forever. It is impossible for me to be
around him 24 hours a day."
"In the past, I would probably feel upset or wronged. But as I think about it now, I feel rather relieved.
I've fulfilled my duties as a wife. So, his affairs have nothing to do with me."
It would be great if I could make it to the end, but if I can't, at least I won't be starving to death. I would
still be able to live well on my own anyway. I'm well-past the age of prioritizing romance.
"Okay!" He paused, "You're still up at this time of the night, can't fall asleep? Would you like to have a
drink?"
I braced my chin and stared at the computer screen. I answered lazily, "I just watched two episodes of
a TV series and I have a major headache. Aaron, I seem to be seriously ill."
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the computer, then he told me, "I'll go pick you up!"
After that, he hung up the phone.
I looked at the scenes on the computer and felt sad. There was this inexplicable, tormenting pain in my
chest. Though I won't cry, this feeling feels much more unbearable than shedding tears.
I had lost interest in everything and even had times when I desperately wanted to take my own life.
I didn't even know what I was doing now!
Aaron took half an hour to get here. He parked his car outside of the villa and honked.
I stood on the balcony and looked in his direction. I saw him sticking out his head out the window of his
car as he yelled, "Come down, I'll take you out for a walk."
I got changed, went downstairs and got into his car.
He started the engine and his gaze fell on me. "Want some alcohol?" He asked.
I nodded with a grin, "Sure!"
"What do you plan to do in the future?" He said, driving away speedily.
I thought for a while and couldn't figure out what to do at the moment. I answered helplessly, "I don't
know. Now that I think about it, there's nothing that I want to pursue anymore."
I have no expectations for romance, no hope for life. My future looked to be a blank sheet.
He glanced at me and said, "Do you want to go back to Hovell?"
I glanced at him, aghast. "Hasn't Hovell been demolished?" That alley was small and the developer
might have taken a fancy to it and planned to build a villa there.
He nodded. "The rest has been demolished. However, our old house still stands tai and is well
maintained."
"You refused to vacate our house?"
He couldn't help laughing. "Sort of."
I didn't ask anymore. With his ability, it was not difficult for him to keep that hundreds of square meters
of land.
After pondering for a moment, I suggested, "Why don't we visit after the New Year? Well go during the
flower season in March and take Anne with us."
He furrowed his brows, "Anne?"
"Monique's daughter," I explained.
He was astounded for a moment before falling silent.

After passing his car key to the valet, Aaron linked arms with me and exclaimed, "Let's go up and have
some fun!"
I found this amusing. "How are we going to have fun? Are you going to find a few gigolos to keep me
company?"
He clicked his tongue and said, "Wow, you know about gigolos too, huh? Let's have fun together then?"
