Chapter 494

After a pause, he scolded, "Also, Hendrix is ill. Even if you quarrel with him, you don't have to be so

harsh. He is your husband, so you should care for him."

It was plain to see just how angry but helpless he felt.

I watched him leave as I sat in my seat feeling dazed for a long while before getting up.

The guests in the hall had left. Aaron set his eyes on me and asked, " Shall we go to Reid's family

house tonight or should I send you back home?"

Hendrix was sick though...

After thinking for a while, I answered, "I'll take a taxi back home later!"

He didn't agree to that. He wanted to object but immediately stopped. Then, he beckoned me to look at

the door.

A black limousine with smooth lines was parked outside the door. The most luxurious cars I had ever

seen were the Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maybach, Bentley. But this was the first time I had seen Hendrix so

ostentatious. He was driving a Rolls-Royc.

However, luxurious cars were frequently seen at this kind of banquet. This was not an usual sight at all.

A driver was standing by the car. When he saw me, he smiled and greeted, "Madam, Mr. Robert hasnovelbin

been waiting for you for a while now. He is sick, so it's best to return quickly!"

What he really meant was that Hendrix was ill, and that he was waiting for me!

I was just about to turn him down when I noticed a smile on the driver's face, but his hands were

clasped tightly together. The driver looked worried and anxious.

I couldn't help but furrow my brows and questioned, "Is he very ill?"

The driver nodded and replied, "It's been two days. He hasn't taken any medicine or gone to the

hospital. He even insisted on coming here today. You...you'd better talk some sense into him!"

I looked back at Aaron and informed him, "Tell Uncle Charles that I'll visit him some other day!"

He nodded and glanced at the car with narrowed black eyes.

Without hesitation, I walked to the side of the car and opened the car door.

Hendrix's eyes were closed and his thin lips twitched. His handsome face looked as white as a sheet.

I unconsciously inched closer to him. The heating system in the car was not turned on, but his forehead

was filled with beaded sweat on this cold winter evening.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

He kept his eyes closed, and his face looked grim. It was as if he didn't want to take a look at me.

His voice was deep and tinged with coldness. "Get off if you're not coming in!"

There was no warmth in his words. Instead, he just sounded angry.

I pursed my lips. My heels were too high for me to get on the car, so I immediately took them off. Then,

I carried the hem of my skirt and hopped onto the car. I examined the driver in the driver's seat and

ordered, "Take us to the hospital!"

The driver was stunned to hear of my instructions and he peered at Hendrix. Seeing that there was no

objection from Hendrix, the driver started the car.

The traffic in Jarold City was no joke, especially around ten at night where the jam is at its peak

terribleness.

When we got to the city center area, our car wouldn't move at all. Hendrix frowned, and beads of sweat

appeared on his forehead. His expression was horrid, and his brows were tightly knitted.

He seemed to be particularly ill. I was shocked when I saw his slender fingers pressing on his

abdomen. I instantly commanded the driver, "Stop at the front of the intersection!"

The driver thought that I wanted to get off the car, so he hesitated for a moment and responded,

"Madam, we will arrive at the hospital soon. You should accompany Mr. Robert to see the doctor..."

His response rendered me a little speechless. When did I become so cold-blooded to other people?

After a pause, I added, "There's a pharmacy in front of us. I'll get off to get some medicine for him."

"No need!" Hendrix objected.

All of a sudden, I lost my temper. I glared at him and shouted angrily, "Shut up if you don't want to die!"

The driver stopped the car by the roadside. I ignored his shocked expression, lifted the hem of my skirt

and got out of the car.

To tell the truth, it was not comfortable at all wearing a gown. Dragging the gown around as I walked

was a whole world of inconvenience and it did nothing to help keep me warm either.

Especially in a place like Jarold city, where it was usually cold and gloomy.
