Chapter 414

I reached out for the cup and poured some water, but was slightly absent- minded and dropped the

cup, breaking it to pieces on the ground.

When I squatted down to pick it up, the bedroom door was opened. Hendrix's eyebrows were filled with

anger. He asked, "Are you injured?"

He walked over to me and picked me up and placed me on the bed. He pursed his thin lips and looked

sharp.

I was stunned for a moment and felt as if I had done something wrong. "No, the glass fell."

He looked up at me and asked, "Want some water?"

I nodded.

He got up and poured me a glass of water. He called for Minnie to come up and clean the mess.

Thinking about the conversation between him and Josiah, I couldn't help but to say, "Go to the study.

Doctor Saunders is waiting for you."

He put the breakfast brought by Minnie next to me and said, "It's all right. He can wait."

I...

After eating breakfast with me, Hendrix went into the study.

I slept well the previous night, so I couldn't fall asleep again even if I wanted to. I played with my phone

on the bed for a while, and it was really boring.

I wanted to go to the study to find some books to pass the time. Josiah had applied medication on my

ankle and it did not hurt as much anymore.

I moved to the study. As Hendrix and Josiah were talking, I raised my hand and knocked on the door.

Hendrix's deep voice came from the inside before my hand even touched the door. "How is she?"

"Her fever hasn't subsided, and she is in a daze. The Moore Family found her a doctor and guarded

her closely. Valerie has been transferred away, and there was no time to worry about her."

After a pause, Josiah continued. "Aren't you going to take a look?"

"There's no need!" Hendrix opened his mouth. "When Casper left that year, it was because she didn't

have any relatives. Now that she has the Moore Family, nothing will happen to her."

Josiah answered with a hum and said faintly, "Arianna and you seem to look different. Are you serious

about her?"

"She's my wife. Do you want to use the word 'serious' to describe the relationship between a husband

and a wife?" Hendrix's voice was very light, but it was arrogant. "What about you? It's been so many

years. Have you finally gotten over it?"

"What's there to let go of?" Josiah didn't seem too happy about it.

"Since you are relieved, you should find someone to marry and live a good life." Hendrix's words

sounded casual.

"D*mn!" That was the first time I've heard Josiah curse. "Hendrix, are you alright? I'm worried that I'll

hinder your life, so why aren't you letting Austin get married?"

"He has someone in his heart. Marriage is bound to happen sooner or later. What about you? What is

the relationship between you and Monique? At that time, you had risked your life to save her in a car

accident. So, I thought you were serious. Why haven't I seen any reaction from you recently?"

For the first time, I felt that Hendrix was such a gossipy person. I pushed open the door and said

helplessly, "Hendrix, you might as well open a matchmaking agency."

Both of them were stunned and glanced at me. Hendrix raised his eyebrows and asked, "What's

wrong?"

I shrugged. "I'm looking for a few books!"

Thinking for a while, I looked at Josiah with curiosity and said, "Doctor Saunders, how is it going

between you and Monique? Can you get in touch with her during this period of time?"

Josiah was a little surprised and said after a pause, "I don't know!"

He replied to me coldly. I almost couldn't hold back my anger and yelled at him. I thought he was

different from Hendrix judging from the conversation between them.

His tone seemed to show he didn't care about her at all.novelbin

After I found the books I was looking for, I immediately left. Glancing at Hendrix, I said, "If you're not

busy, send me to the Granger Group."

Hendrix didn't say anything.
