Chapter 398

Nerissa's expression was cold. She looked at Helen with both fists clenched, as if she was trying tonovelbin

keep her anger in check. Suddenly, she laughed. "Yes, I'm rotten, but I'm not as rotten or cheap as you.

Helen, think about it. What's the real reason behind you and Yohannes' divorce?"

"You! It was because of you, you vixen!" Helen was furious. "You seduced him and ruined our family."

"Oh!" Nerissa sneered. "Seems like you need someone to help jog that memory of yours. Do you really

not remember what happened that one night at Victor Hotel ten years ago? Or was it because you

assumed no one would find out?"

Helen's expression suddenly changed. "What... what do you mean?"

"What I mean is that you know this better than I do. You probably didn't even know that after you've

made a fool of yourself, that person showed the video to Yohannes and let him gawk at how the two of

you spent the night together."

Helen's face turned pale. She looked at Nerissa, trembling as she said, "That's impossible. Yohannes

knew..."

Nerissa said solemnly, "He not only knew about it but in order to cover up the scandal, he gave the

person hush money too. Do you have any idea how he got through that pain? He loved you and you

knew it. So, why did you hurt him?"

"No!" Helen's eyes were filled with tears. "I didn't know what happened that night. I really didn't! I

wanted to explain this to him, but when I saw you with him, I just felt upset and completely broke down.

That was why we fought. I didn't know it was because of this."

Nerissa looked coldly at Helen's grief-stricken expression and said, "There was nothing going on

between us at that time, but in order to cover up your scandal, he had promised to give me the shares

and a sum of money. At that time, the Roberts Group was in face of a bankruptcy. But it was my

father's legacy, so I needed the money. I agreed to it. You probably don't know why that man abruptly

died in a car accident, right? Well, Yohannes killed him for you."

Helen collapsed to the ground and sobbed. "Why didn't he tell me, why?"

"Tell you?" Nerissa asked solemnly, "What was the use of telling you? That man died in a car accident,

and you almost killed Yohannes for a sleazy piece of sh*t. So, what was the point of telling you? So

that you could hate him for killing the one you cared the most about?"

"That night was an accident; I didn't even love him. And when he died, all I did was just to take a look,

but when I saw you with him, I felt uncomfortable. So, I sought revenge and stabbed him. I didn't

expect things to turn out like this."

Irvin's face darkened, and his expression twisted into an ugly mess.

As he looked at Nerissa, he said coldly, "Why are you saying all of this now? Yohannes is dead. Do you

want my mother dead as well?"

Nerissa sneered. "So, do you want your mother to hate your father for the rest of her life? He had been

wronged for so many years. Why can't you let him die in peace?"

"I deserve to die. It should have been me who died!" Helen cried as she picked herself up from the

ground. She looked at Nerissa with a smile. "He loved me. Yes, he loved me."
