Chapter 385

Footsteps were heard from the bedroom, and suddenly, I could hear Hendrix's voice in my ears. He

sounded a little angry when he asked, "Arianna, why are you crying?"

I pursed my lips and didn't respond.

He pulled the blanket away, and the light was a little too glaring.

He said with a sullen face, "Are you planning to suffocate yourself to death?"

I didn't want to talk, so I glared at him and asked, "Hendrix, can't I be left alone to regulate my feelings?

Have you asked about how I feel?"

He frowned. "Are you not feeling well?"

I wanted to strangle him. I looked at him and gritted my teeth. "Can't you tell?"

He pursed his lips and looked very unhappy. "I'll take you to the hospital!"

I held back my anger. I picked up a pillow and threw it at him. "Get out!"

Hendrix looked at me in silence.

Then, he closed the bedroom door and left.novelbin

I closed my eyes and continued lying in bed. I couldn't fall asleep no matter how hard I tried; the anger

within was nowhere near sizzling out.

Minnie brought over some food and whispered, "Arianna, please get up and have something to eat.

Would you like to apply the ointment again before going to bed?"

"No need!" I don't usually lose my temper for no reason, so my tone sounded cold.

She paused for a moment and said, "Arianna, Mr. Hendrix had just left. Before he did, he requested for

you to eat something. If you don't feel well, apply some of the medicine and go to sleep."

"I don't want to!" I frowned, feeling a little grumpy.

Upon seeing this reaction from me, she didn't say anything else. She placed the items on the table and

turned around to leave. When she got to the door, she looked back at me and said, "Arianna, he treats

you well. I watched him grow since he was a child. Growing up with his grandfather, he never really

learned how to take care of others and he only ever approaches things with a mind to solve problems.

Ever since he was young, his grandfather had started grooming him to be his successor - just so you

know that he isn't naturally cold as a person. But this past year, I can see that he cares about you a

lot."

She continued. "He had actually wanted to come up himself but he knew that you were angry and didn't

want to see him. So, he told me to come up here instead. You guys are husband and wife, so you

should try to understand and empathize with each other, especially since you both do have feelings for

one another. Don't ruin your relationship over a few arguments."

I was tired, so I collected myself and said, "I know, Minnie. Go on ahead with your work. I want to sleep

for a while!"

She had said everything that needed to be said, so she nodded. "Okay, remember to eat something."

After that, she left.

I laid on my bed and gazed at the weather outside with my eyes half- closed. It was already winter in

Jarold City. The day was rainy and everything was cast a gloomy shade, just like my mood.

Every inch of my body hurt. I could neither sleep nor eat.

I didn't feel like moving or talking.

I stared at the ceiling in a daze. Andrea's child was gone but I didn't feel an ounce of happiness. My

mind was a total mess.

I felt myself growing more annoyed. I just wanted to have a good sleep, but the more I wanted to, the

more I couldn't doze off.

After another few failed attempts, I finally gave up on all notions of slumber. I dragged myself out of bed

and to the balcony.

I opened all the windows in the room. It was drizzling outside, and the cold wind rushed into the

bedroom. I instantly felt awake, and the soreness around my body became more difficult to ignore as I

went to sit by the window to enjoy more of the refreshing rain and cold breeze.

The leaves outside the villa were all gone, leaving only bare branches with no birds to be seen. What a

lonely scene this was.
