Chapter 1699

I took a deep breath and calmed down. Then, I turned and walked to a corner, picked up thedagger, walked back towards the bodyguard, and handed it to him. "Do you know what to do?"

The bodyguard looked up at me and frowned slightly. He hesitated for a second, as if he wasconsidering the validity of this matter.

But soon, he made up his mind.

The bodyguard struggled to stand up, picked up the bloody coat on the ground, and put it on. Hesnatched the knife in my hand, placed the blade against my neck, and walked out slowly.

Aaron, who had been standing outside the door, saw the bodyguard trying to kidnap me. Hisexpression darkened immediately.

Aaron's men quickly formed a circle around the door of the basement.

Someone informed Hendrix, and he came in from the side door with Evan.

I glanced at Hendrix for a second, but I didn't see any fear nor panic in his eyes. I looked awayguiltily before he realized what I had planned to do.

Hendrix was smart. He could easily figure out that if the bodyguard wanted to take me hostage, hehad to rely on my help.

"Arianna." Hendrix's voice carried a special tone whenever he was angry.

After hesitating for a moment, I looked at him again.

As soon as I turned around, I was caught in Hendrix's meaningful gaze.

No one dared to move. After a while, Hendrix's complicated and unclear emotions suddenlydissipated as if he had figured it out. He was extremely calm.

"Aren't you nervous? There is a knife against your neck. You didn't even call for help." Hendrix'swords were sharp.

My heart sank, and I clenched my fists.

Hendrix's words were quite meaningful.

He had already seen through my plot. He was very angry with my decision to volunteer to be ahostage, with no regard for my own safety. However, he would not immediately sentence me andinstead waited for me to make a choice.

Although the bodyguard's knife was against my neck, it would not be difficult for Hendrix to saveme.

Now even Aaron had seen through my plan. His emotions were written all over his face. He orderedme, "Arianna, I've just warned you, there are some things you shouldn't do!"

The bodyguard looked at them and then turned to look at me. He sneered at them. "It seems thatMiss Reid hasn't discussed this with her family yet. Look how sad they are. These two men are noteasy to deal with. Do you think we can get out of here?"

Boom-

The bodyguard's words made me realize something.

Hendrix thought that I was willing to become a hostage for the sake of my child?!

I glanced at Hendrix, who stood still. His long shirt was caught in the wind and floated along with thebreeze, which gave him a lonely and desolate look.

A moment of hesitation flashed through my heart.

However, whenever I thought of my child, the hesitation completely disappeared from my mind.

Aaron had used all his means and ways, but the purpose of the opposition was still unclear. Withthe baby as a bargaining chip, he had already done the necessary preparations. No matter whatthey did, there would be no way of changing the outcome.

The only one who could lead us to the group of people who had abducted my baby was thisbodyguard.

I was the only one who could hear what the bodyguard said to me, but his face was covered withblood and wounds, and he looked particularly barbaric, wielding the knife against my throat. Just aslight movement of his body would make the blade sink into my flesh a little more, which made mysituation look extremely dangerous.

Hendrix had been staring at me. His expression changed over and over again.

Looking at him, I opened my mouth but did not know where to start.Contents belong to NovelDrama.Org

At this moment, everything I said would be wrong.

It was impossible for me to change my decision. As for Hendrix...
