Chapter 1605

Roberts Group had moved to Jarold City for several months, but they hadn't had their ownwarehouse yet. Many goods, including construction materials, could only be delivered directly fromUcrebury. This was not favorable for Roberts Group, who was gradually developing its owninternational trading network.

Denmiles was a country that had always been leading the Al industry. Eisen Company had beenfocusing a lot on developing robots, but the company wasn't managed well, so they had been losingmoney all the time. Hendrix's decision to acquire the company was not only to obtain their coretechnology, but also to build his own network of warehouses. He wanted to use robots to identifyand distribute goods, so that Roberts Group no longer needed to be dependent on the circle ofinfluencing companies in Jarold City.

Hendrix said, "But it won't be that easy to get to this point. The Denmiles government is worried thatonce the company is acquired by a foreign company, their technology development will leak out oftheir country. They're encouraging domestic companies to acquire Eisen Company. Those investorshave already emptied the hedge fund of Eisen Company. Everyone isn't very optimistic about theacquisition. The worst part is that the shares of Eisen Company that I own might eventually becomeworthless."

That was a bet. Even I couldn't help frowning. No wonder Hendrix didn't want to be honest withRowane.

Once completed, Roberts Group could finally stand strong in Jarold City. Such a big vision, yetRowane only focused on developing the Al field. Even if she knew the truth, she would notunderstand.

Maintaining the employees' spirit was a matter that should always be prioritized. After Hendrixreturned to the company, I personally called Rowane on the phone.

Rowane was probably still pissed off with Hendrix. After hanging up twice, she finally picked up.

"Oh, Mrs. Roberts, are you here to give me some advice?" Rowane's tone was rude.

I said, "Don't get all defensive at me. I mean no harm."

"Get straight to the point," Rowane said.

Rowane's tough temper made me feel uncomfortable. I took a deep breath and tried to remain calm."Miss Zanes, do you know that

I'm recently preparing for the bar exam?" "What?" Rowane was stunned for a moment, probably notexpecting me to mention that. She asked, "Why should I know about what you're doing?"

"Yes, but I feel that we're fated, so I want you to know about it," I replied. Probably because I hadbeen with Hendrix for a long time, I was used to being shameless. I continued, "I've been takingpostgraduate law courses since last year and was about to sit for the exam, but I missed it becausea lot of things happened in between. Now that Roberts Group has moved to Jarold City, it will onlybecome more successful in the future. There will be more legal affairs on the way, so I think that if Ican get a lawyer's certificate, I can stand by Hendrix's side and help him carry his burden."

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone call. After a while, Rowane'simpatient voice sounded, "You called just to let me know how much you and Hendrix love eachother? Arianna, have you forgotten? I'm married. I'm not interested in Hendrix at all. Do you thinkyour words can trigger me?"

"Of course not." I smiled and gave her a taste of her own medicine by continuing, "I remember thatyou always thought you're more suitable for Hendrix, because you're more capable and prettier thanme, right?" "What exactly are you trying to say? Are you trying to settle scores right now?" Rowaneasked tentatively.

"Don't get me wrong. What I mean is that you're right," I explained. I collected myself and saidseriously, "That's why I want to take the postgraduate entrance examination and get a lawyer'scertificate. Just as you said, I'm not worthy of Hendrix. That's why I want to go as far as I can so thatone day, I can be on the same level as him. Comparably, I hope you can understand that Hendrixhas invested so much money in the Research and Development Department. What he wants to seefrom your results is definitely not like the previous me, the one who was ordinary without any proudachievements. Do you understand what I mean?"novelbin

Rowane was always seeking higher achievements. As a highly-skilled technical expert herself, itwas understandable that she wouldn't lower her pride. To make her realize her mistake, someonemust point out to her that the achievements created by the Research and Development Departmentweren't as high as she usually sought.

She was too self- righteous. It was time for someone to remind her that she wasn't perfect.
