Chapter 1553

Hendrix nodded. After greeting Jarred, we went straight upstairs.

There were three bedrooms and one living room. Nerissa's house was not huge, but it was cozyand homey. There were flowers on the cabinet. Unfortunately, I couldn't see clearly what the flowerslooked like. They seemed to be in full bloom but didn't look like real flowers.novelbin

"Aunt Nerissa made them herself. There are a lot of withered branches around the neighborhooddownstairs. She found some, folded tissue paper into petals, and dyed them. She places them thereas decorations."

I was a little stupefied. I couldn't help but walk up to take a closer look. I was intrigued by his words, and they were indeed fake flowers, but they had been crafted so well.

Hendrix was taken aback as well. He moved closer and said with a faint smile, "If you don't take acloser look, you really can't tell whether they're real or fake!"

Nerissa brought the dishes out of the kitchen and said with a smile, "It's Jarred that dyed the colors. It's all thanks to him that they look so realistic.

Come, the meal is ready. I still have more flowers in my bedroom. If you like them, you can bringsome home with you."

Nerissa said to us as she beckoned us over to the dining table, "I think the Roberts Group is doingquite well now, and it's basically stable already. You two are not young anymore, and it's a littleboring just for two people to live together. Don't always let the Moore Family take care of Anne. Theboth of you should let her stay with you and raise her yourselves. You shouldn't neglect her."

Hearing what she said, I couldn't help but feel a little ashamed. I nodded my head repeatedly andsaid, "Yes, Aunt Nerissa!"

Indeed, we should have kept her with us, but recently we'd been too occupied. I silently made upmy mind to bring her back and let her live with us soon.

As I was thinking about this, Nerissa suddenly ran to the bathroom. Hendrix and I were stupefied fora moment. Jarred followed in calmly and came out after a moment.

I couldn't help asking, "What did you eat? Is your stomach not feeling well?"

Nerissa smiled and said, "It's fine, it's fine. It's normal. Everything will be fine in a month or two." Asshe spoke, she sat back down.

Jarred put some food into a plate for her, and took care of her meticulously.

I frowned when I noticed that Hendrix was silent. He didn't even know how to care for others.

After dinner, Jarred and Hendrix went to the sitting room to have a chat over some coffee. Nerissaand I cleaned up the kitchen and sat in the living room watching television. She suddenly tugged onmy sleeve and said, "Arianna, you're not young anymore. Are you planning to have a child?"

I was a little stupefied at being asked this question.

After hesitating for a while, I looked at her and said, "Aunt Nerissa, I can't get pregnant anymore!"

Her body stiffened slightly, and she took a deep breath. Then, she said helplessly, "You two havehad such tough luck."

I pursed my lips and didn't know what to say. It was in the past, no matter what I said now, it wouldbe useless.

After a while, I noticed that Nerissa seemed to be a little uncomfortable, I couldn't help but ask,"Aunt Nerissa, what's wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"

She shook her head slightly. "It's fine. I'm getting older, and I can't tolerate such pain any more.Arianna, do you have any other plans on having

another child?"

I was stunned and confused. "Aunt Nerissa, about the child, we..."

"What about in vitro fertilization? Modern technology is so advanced now, it's not a must for you toget pregnant through natural methods. If you cannot do it yourself, in vitro fertilization can help."
