After he got out of the car, he opened the door of the passenger seat and helped a woman out ofthe car politely. I thought that the friend he brought with him would be Ian. I didn't expect it to be agorgeous girl.
I was a little stunned.
However, I soon regained my composure and greeted them with a faint smile, "Long time no see,Sawyer. You really are becoming more and more charming."
Sawyer smiled. The child-like mischief in his eyes had long disappeared and was now replaced witha glint of pensive maturity. He nodded at me and smiled, "Long time no see. You look thinner now!"novelbin
I grinned, looked at the woman beside him and asked, "Who is this pretty lady here? Such abeautiful girl. Is she your girlfriend?"
He nodded and held the girl's arm, "Arianna, let me introduce Raiya Hathaway, my girlfriend." Then,he looked at Raiya and said, "Raiya, this is Arianna, my... sister!"
Sister!
When I heard this word, I was dumbstruck for a moment. The term "sister" sounded so foreigncoming from him.
Raiya gave me a sweet smile. "Hello, Arianna! You're as beautiful as Sawyer described."
I smiled and said, "Nice to meet you. He must've been exaggerating. Let's go in. The food is almostready."
We entered the villa together, and I invited them to take a seat. I had so much that I wanted to askSawyer. Where was Ian? Did he plan to marry Raiya in the future? Was that why he invited her
here?
Because of his special relationship with Ian, I had never asked them for any details. I thought theirrelationship would continue to be complicated for a long time, but I didn't expect that he would bringa new girl home one day.
Pedro finished work and arrived home just as Valerie had finished setting the table. Everyone sat atthe table and introduced each other. Sawyer looked at Valerie earnestly and said, "Mom, I aomeback today to introduce Raiya to you. We are getting married. As for the engagement, I need yourhelp. Raiya is from Jarold City. I don't know much about the etiquette here, so I need your help withthat."
Valerie looked a little surprised, but it didn't last for long. She paused for a while and answered,
"Well, it's good that you are finally thinking about settling down. I'll handle your engagement. Do youhave any special requests? I'll do everything as per your requests."
Sawyer grinned and shook his head slightly, "Raiya and I are fine with anything. We would love tohave the engagement party with the two families having a meal and chatting together, maybe at afancy restaurant. That is all."
Valerie nodded, and a smile lit up her face. She surely felt great happiness at seeing her childrenget settled down one by one. As a parent, her only wish was for her children to live peaceful andcomfortable lives.
The atmosphere was rather lively during the meal, but I felt a little strange when I saw how Sawyerand Raiya interacted with each other. I didn't know how long they had been together, but it didn'tseem like they were lovers. They were both very polite and courteous to each other, behaving likeacquaintances instead.
After the meal, I went out to the backyard.
Valerie took Raiya upstairs. As a mother, she had probably prepared some gifts for Raiya.
Sawyer and I were in the backyard. He seemed to be a little down. I couldn't help but ask, "Mommentioned that you moved the company to Jarold
City. Are you planning to stay here in the future?"
He nodded, "Well, Mom asked me to come over to help you manage the Lawson Group. Shedoesn't want you to be too stressed out. This is good. The whole family will be together."
