Chapter 1490

I didn't usually chew people out like this, but I couldn't control myself.

Looking at his furious face, I sneered. This man was such a hypocrite. He had done nothing but badthings, yet he still wanted everyone to think of him as a perfect golden boy. It was ridiculous.

I had said all I needed to. There was no point in continuing the conversation anymore, so I just gavehim a sweeping glance and said, "Think before you speak!"

With that, I turned around and walked out of the corridor. He roared angrily from behind, "Arianna, you're pretty good at placing the blame on other people. You're a good talker. No wonder Hendrixloves you so much, you're truly a master manipulator!"

I looked back at him, mildly amused. I accepted his praise without hesitation and replied with a faintsmile, "Thank you for your compliment. However, Mr. Shelley, don't try to label me without seeingthe facts. If you really care so much about Andrea, may I suggest that when she is released, youtake her back in and allow her to continue being your pet canary. But I'm sure you won't want toanymore. After all, she would be old and wrinkly by then, and you would look down on her, no?"novelbin

Without saying anything else, I headed straight back to the restaurant. Perhaps because I had beengone for too long, Hendrix came over and we met face to face. He looked at me and asked, "Whattook you so long?"

I took his arm and answered with a smile, "I ran into a familiar 'toilet'. After chatting with him for awhile, I dumped all the trash into him. Now, I'm feeling so much better than I did before."

He frowned and asked, "What are you talking about?"

I grinned in reply. "Nothing, just that I had a really nice sh*t just now!"

He poked my forehead with his finger and said feebly, "Mind your words, please."

Austin caught up to us. He was still a little furious and hollered at me, "Shameless!" Then, hepushed past both of us and went straight to the hall.

Hendrix frowned, glanced at me, and asked, "Why is he so angry? What were you two talkingabout?"

I shrugged and answered, "Andrea. He didn't want to help her, yet still wanted to keep his reputationintact. But in the end, he failed. He was so furious that he directed his anger at me."

He stared at Austin's retreating figure, pursed his lips and said, "He's about to get married to thedaughter of the Rulin family soon. It's high time he let go of Andrea. Once the Shelley family and theRulin family align themselves through marriage, they will both become very successful."

I was not interested in business matters. I said softly, "I suddenly realized that Andrea's life iscompletely screwed up. She didn't manage to meet a good man or establish her own career."

The most pathetic thing a woman could do was to give her entire life to a man. She could spend allher energy and time on him, but in the end, she would not get anything in return. When he no longerfound her useful, she would be tossed aside like a rag.

Andrea's mistake began the moment Casper handed her over to his buddies.

It was a pity that she had not planned her whole life well since the beginning. She had lost herdignity and her reason to live, because of love. Now that she had lost her independence, she wasnothing more than a pet. In the end, she singlehandedly destroyed her own life.

Hendrix did not speak, but looked at me and said, "I need to go to Asherton tomorrow to deal withsome stuff. Arianna, it's time for us to live for ourselves."
