Chapter 1486
He led us into the restaurant. The atmosphere was quiet and elegant. Hendrix and I chose seatswhich were right next to Aaron's table.
While Hendrix ordered, I glanced at the woman sitting opposite Aaron. She looked modest, albeitslightly aloof and distant. I could tell that she wasn't the chatty, cheerful type.
I looked at the two seated opposite each other and realized that Aaron seemed to have nothing tosay. The woman talked very little as well, so the two of them mostly enjoyed their food in silence. Itappeared that they were not affected by each other's presence.
I gave Aaron a pointed look, hinting at him to start a conversation with her, but he kept staring backat me with a childish expression, which made me really want to beat him up.
"Your sister?" The girl finally opened her mouth and asked. Her voice was not loud, but everyonecould hear her clearly. Aaron and I were both startled for a moment. After that, the girl said, "Whydon't we join tables? The more the merrier." She suddenly stood up and walked towards Hendrixand me.
She waved at the waiter and said, "Hello, can you help us? We want to sit together!"
After saying that, she sat down next to me. Aaron didn't say anything but moved over to join us aswell. He looked at us awkwardly.
She suddenly began to speak, "My name is Emma Stone. I am 33 years old. I recently got divorcedbut I don't have any children. To be specific, I can't have children, and I'm now working at JaroldUniversity as a professor. You must already be familar with my family background, so I will not saymuch about it. As for my relationship history, the relationship I have with my ex-husband is clear cut.We are divorced and no longer have anything to do with each other. My current income is 30,000
dollars a month. I have my own house and car. I am self sufficient, so don't worry too much aboutthat." After saying all these things in a single breath, Emma looked at Aaron calmly.
After hesitating for a while, Aaron replied, "I'm Aaron Reid, 35 years old, unmarried, but I have ason who is less than one years old. I own several companies and my income is decent. I have bothcars and a house. Ah yes, one more thing. I am still in love with someone else!"
I was shocked by his blunt honesty. What was Aaron doing? What did he mean?
Emma nodded and turned to me instead, saying,
"He just simply wants to find someone to get married to. So do I. I just want to find someone to getmarried to as well. Since you're his sister, you must have questions for me. Go ahead and ask meanything!"novelbin

I was a little surprised. I smiled awkwardly and said, "You've misunderstood, Miss Stone. This isbetween the both of you, I shouldn't be interfering. It's up to you to decide whether you find eachother suitable. We are merely here as bystanders. You're the ones who will have to spend the restof your lives together!"
Emma pursed her lips and did not say another word.
Aaron fell silent all of a sudden.
I was a little confused when I saw the two of them behaving like this.
It was the first time I had encountered such an awkward blind date. After a moment of hesitation, Ilooked at them and asked, "Why don't both of you go out and have a walk? Or find a cafe to talkabout each other's hobbies and lifestyles?"
"We don't need to. I usually just read books and don't have any other hobbies!" Emma countered.
Aaron said indifferently, "Me too. I usually just spend my time hooking up with young women andspending money on them. I don't have any hobbies other than smoking and drinking!"
I was speechless, watching this exchange.
