Chapter 1479

"Arianna, what right do you have to order me? Who do you think you are? What right do you have todictate my actions and interfere in other people's lives..." Eunice snarled. I knew that arguing withher would only be a waste of my time and energy, so I chose not to.

After hanging up, I turned off Aaron's mobile phone and was ready to go back to my own bedroom, but when I turned around, I saw Hendrix leaning against the doorframe, watching me. He had hisarms crossed in front of his chest, with a smile on his face. After a while, he said lightly, "Judgingfrom how you're treating Eunice now, it seems that you've been very kind to Andrea."

I rolled my eyes at him and asked indignantly, "Have you been eavesdropping on my conversation?Since when did Mr. Roberts evolve into such a sneak?"

With a faint smile, he walked up to me and wrapped his arms around me. He carried me in afireman lift out of the guest room and into our master bedroom. He plopped me down on the bedand gave me an intense stare. "Shall we continue?"

I glanced at the clock on the wall and reminded him gently, "It's already past midnight, Mr. Roberts. You still have a lot of things to do tomorrow!"

He raised his eyebrows at my statement and leaned closer. I could feel his warm breath on myearlobe as he teased me, "But if I don't do this now, I am afraid that I won't be able to focus on whatI need to do tomorrow!"

This man!

With his badgering, I had no choice but to say, "Let me take a bath first. I've been busy all daytoday, and I've sweat a lot. I'm filthy."

He did not object, but after pulling me up from the bed, he looked at me and said slyly, "Well, whydon't we wash up together?"novelbin

I was speechless, but I knew there was no way I'd be able to refuse.

The next day.

When I woke up, Hendrix was no longer in the villa. I knew that he had many things to deal with atwork, so he had probably headed out already.

What surprised me when I walked downstairs was seeing Aaron preparing breakfast with an apronon.

I was stunned for quite a while before I finally said, "Mr. Reid, it seems that you are a completelydifferent person now!"

He gave me a glance upon hearing my voice. Probably because of his sleeping position during thenight, his hair was tousled, with a tuft sticking out from the back of his head. Compared to his usualcold look, he looked much more down-to-earth and approachable this way.

"Go wash up and get ready for breakfast!" he said, holding a spatula in his hand. It seemed that hewas frying eggs.

I wanted to say something more, but when I saw him staring at me, I realized that I was still wearingmy nightgown, so I turned around and went back upstairs to change.

When I came downstairs again, he had already finished preparing breakfast, which consisted oftoast, eggs, and porridge. It looked quite good.

"Have a taste. How's my cooking?" he said as he added an egg onto my plate.

I lowered my head and took a bite. I then stared at him, astonished. "Well, it's great. Do you cookoften?"

He shook his head. His gaze was miserable and forlorn. "I just learned not long ago. When she waspregnant, Yana wanted me to cook her some eggs, but I didn't know how to at that time. After that, Ilearned it, but I didn't have the chance to cook for her anymore. So you're the first person to tastemy cooking. Eat more," he said.

I sighed, looked at him, and said, "She said that she doesn't hate you, but instead, she's thankful foryou, because you're the one who brought her here. You're the reason her life turned out different. She doesn't regret meeting you."

He nodded and replied, "I know!"

Looking at his dejected look, I pursed my lips and said, "Eunice called you last night and I picked upthe call. Are you really thinking of getting married to her?"
