Chapter 1451

Even though this house wasn't the best place to live in, it was clear that the sisters were happy withwhat they had right now. I went straight to the point and said to Susan, "I'm trying to track Yonasdown. I know that he was the one who helped you find the entrance. I'd like you to persuade him tobring us along to the Emperor Club."

She lowered her head, busy washing the pots and pans. After a while, she spoke again, "Are youlooking for him so that he can lead you to the basement?"

I murmured in agreement.

She looked at me and said, "You actually don't need to go in there and look around yourself. Youcould have just called the police. If the police show up out of the blue, they won't have the time totransport the evidence. Those items can only be transported through the elevator. If suddenlyeverything is put under investigation, there's nothing they can do except wait."

I smiled faintly without refuting her words. "I'll take it into consideration, but we still need you toconvince Yonas."

She was caught in a moment of silence. "I'm not

sure if I can convince him. Have you found him?"

I shook my head and answered, "Not yet!"

"Oh," she said as she walked to the table and took a seat. She turned to me and asked, "Wanna eattogether?"

I didn't want to interrupt her dinner time, so I just shook my head and quietly waited for her to finishher meal.

The room was enveloped in an atmosphere of stillness. After a moment, I said, "I thought everythingI did was right, but it seems that I'm foolish to think so. I should have been quicker on my feet."

Susan frowned, trying to make sense of what I had said. "What are you talking about, Miss Reid?"

I replied with a smiling face, "Nothing, I'm just making fun of myself. Alright, I should get going now.I'll call you up as soon as I've found Yonas."

After that, I got up on my feet and left her house.

I got out of the village and hopped into the car. Evan informed me, "Mrs. Roberts, John has news ofYonas."

I nodded in acknowledgment before I gave my instructions, "Please get someone to keep an eye onthe Emperor Club, especially any trucks or vehicles entering and leaving the place."

He nodded.

I had many unresolved doubts in my heart. I never figured out if Sebastian had anything to do withSusan's reappearance. It seemed that my encounter with her here in Asherton was too much of acoincidence.

Thinking of this, I gave Naomi a call. She answered with a cold tone, seemingly different from herusual chatty character. "You've finally called."

"Let's meet up at the cafe!" I went straight to the point.

Naomi nodded and agreed, "Alright!"

Evan and I immediately went over to the agreed upon venue.

In the cafe.

Naomi arrived before me. When I got to the cafe, she had already ordered her cup of coffee. Sheseemed to look different from before. Her eyes were darting back and forth, with a sense ofcoldness and hostility in them.

Not only that, she didn't seem to be as enthusiastic as before when she saw me. She welcomed mewith only a faint smile and said, "You're here. Have a seat!"

I took a seat and looked at her without saying a single word. I was waiting for her to initiate the

conversation.

She knew what I was doing. After a long silence, she finally spoke, "Since when did you know thathe liked you?"

Of course, Naomi was talking about Sebastian.

Pursing my lips, I replied honestly, "He wanted to get ownership of Oakland from the Hayes family.Hendrix was taken away and locked in the freezer at that time, but we managed to escape together.I've known ever since then."

Hearing my explanation, she then replied, "All the hustle and bustle in this world is only for money.I'm not in any position to interfere in your businesses. I only found out about everything recently, and I'm sorry to say this, but Arianna, we can't be friends anymore."novelbin

I shrugged, not too bothered by her statement. "I know. After all, it's your choice to make. Eitherway, I'll respect your decision. About what happened in the Emperor Club, it doesn't matter anymoreif you did it on purpose or not. You should know better than anyone that I'm not here to get anapology out of you."
