Chapter 1412

I sighed helplessly upon seeing his angry face, and said, "I know it's my fault. I shouldn't have liedto you. Don't be angry. Hendrix, we shouldn't fight because of these small things. I suspect thatSebastian is doing some black market trade. He may be holding countless lives in his hands. I amnot sure if we can go on with Anne's operation. Can we not quarrel now and solve the importantissues first?"

He frowned slightly and looked at me. Then, he pursed his lips and asked, "Black market trade?"

I nodded and said, "I found out from the contact person that they had their own operating room, equipment and doctors. Do you remember the girl named Wendy who we met at the auction at theGreenland Hotel? Wendy had heart disease when she was younger. In order to find her a suitableheart, her father secretly colluded with Sebastian and killed a girl. He was later sentenced to jail forillegally misappropriating company funds."novelbin

He thought for a moment and said, "Yes, I remember. But how did you manage to get in touch withher?"

"She was the one who came to me. Well, we got to know each other after we ran into each other afew times. I am now worried about Anne. Would Sebastian stab me in the back after Anne receiveda kidney transplant from Abby? If that happens, we're not the only ones who will get involved, butmy parents as well. They are finally able to live a stable and peaceful life now. If this matter ends upcausing trouble in the future, I am afraid that I will drag them down."

Although Anne's case was not as serious as Wendy's, no one knew what Sebastian was capable ofdoing. He gave me the contacts because he knew we couldn't find a suitable kidney for Anne. Butonce the operation was completed, he could use Abby against us. He could possibly contact themedia and make up all kinds of news. The Roberts Family and the Moore Family wouldn't be able toclear the air if that happened.

Hendrix pursed his lips and seemed to be deep in thought. After remaining silent for a moment, helooked at me and said, "We have to put Anne's operation on hold for the time being. Thetransplantation has to be done legally. We can't operate on Abby so recklessly. Try to find a way todelay your parents. I will find a suitable donor as soon as possible."

I pursed my lips. Although I was extremely reluctant, I still nodded. I couldn't let two families fall intodespair because of me.

"Let's follow the original plan for the time being, and don't reveal too much information at themoment." After saying that, he took out his mobile phone and called Evan.

It seemed that he was giving him orders about certain affairs to be taken care of in Oakland. I wasnot in the mood to worry about these things right now. All I had in my mind was going to the hospitalwith Bobbie tomorrow.

The next day.

Hendrix had rushed to Oakland to take care of the company's affairs. It was said that an accidenthad occurred at some of the ports in Oakland that had just been taken over by the Roberts Group.Hendrix had to go over and deal with it.

I stayed in Asherton and continued to deal with matters surrounding Anne's operation.

Bobbie had sent me a message with the hospital address and the meeting time. Before going out, Icalled Valerie. It seemed that she didn't sleep well the night before. She answered the phone, andsaid in a hoarse voice, "Arianna, what's wrong?"

"Mom, has Abby's examination results come out yet? Did the doctor say when the operation can bearranged?"
