Chapter 1363

I was a little surprised. I remembered Valerie telling me that she bumped into Nerissa at thehospital, and Nerissa had been with a man. I thought Valerie had been overthinking. However, nowwhen I looked at them, they seemed rather intimate together.

The couple entered the restaurant. Then, Yana asked, "Hmm... Could this be a case of falling inlove in one's twilight years?"

I smiled and shook my head. "I'm not sure either," I said. "Don't be nosy. Given Aunt Nerissa's age,I’m happy for her if she finds someone suitable to spend her life with."

"Well, that’s right," Yana nodded and continued in a serious tone, "I guess I believe in fate. Alas, everything is predestined. Some people attain great success and achievement at a young age butdo not live a long life. On the other hand, there are some who lead a tough life but are able to live toa ripe old age. And there are those who go through life's greatest adversity at a young age but areable to achieve success in their later years. In the same vein, some people go through a series offailed relationships before meeting their true love."

I nodded in agreement. After ordering some of her favorite dishes, Ethan looked at Yana and said,"Are we then destined to be each other's lover?"

She looked at Ethan and said, "Well, I would say we met each other at the right timeg\."novelbin

As both of them were flirting, I looked at my cell phone to read Wendy's message. "This mattercannot be resolved over the phone! Let's meet up and talk!"

Indeed, it was very complicated and would be hard to discuss over the phone.

Hendrix's call came in. I swiped to answer his call. "Are you done with the meeting?" I asked.

He uttered hoarsely, "Yes, it has just ended. Where are you?"

"In the city center. I’m having dinner with Yana. Would you like to come over?"

"Alright!"

As I hung up, Yana looked at me and said, "Was it Hendrix?"

I nodded.

She looked at me and asked worriedly, "Have you not been sleeping well? You looked pale sincethe morning. Is Anne's matter bothering you?"

She caught me off guard. I flashed a bitter smile and said, "She's Monique's child... The only thing

Monique left behind. I..."

I sighed and ended the topic. Then, I said to Yana, "Hendrix will be here in a bit. I'll go over to sayhello to Aunt Nerissa in the meantime."

After all, there was no point in talking about Anne. The crux of the matter was finding the rightkidney donor as soon as possible.

Yana nodded as she sensed that I did not wish to talk further. "Alright then, go ahead. The waiterswill serve the dishes in a bit."

Nerissa and Jarred were sitting by the window. They were middle-aged but seemed like a youngcouple in love. One was listening attentively while the other was babbling happily. Nerissa stifled agiggle as she listened to Jarred, and he stared back at her with a loving gaze.

Perhaps, my appearance was rather sudden. Nerissa was taken aback as she saw me. Feeling alittle awkward, she asked. "Arianna... You're here?"

T m here for dinner with my friends,” I replied smilingly. "And then I bumped into you. So I cameover to say hi. Aunt Nerissa, who' s this gentleman?"

Nerissa was blushing. Jarred seemed to be a well-mannered, educated man, so he immediatelyintroduced himself, "Hi, I'm Jarred Milton. I'm currently dating Nerissa. You're her niece, aren't you?Come, have a seat."
