Chapter 1327

She nodded. "I've recovered a long time ago. I'm thick-skinned, and it's just a minor injury. It didn'taffect me much!"

I breathed a sigh of relief. I took the dried mango from her hand and said with a smile, "Thank you,but don't be so courteous from now on. We should thank you for what you've done. You helpedHendrix avoid a disaster."

Her face was blushing red. She smiled and replied, "You're too courteous, Mrs. Roberts. Back then,it was Mr. Roberts who saved me, but I became a burden."

"Let's go now, you shouldn't be standing for too long!" Hendrix hugged me and said. I nodded.Indeed, I had stood for too long, and my waist was extremely uncomfortable.

Estella smiled and said goodbye. The smile on her face was particularly bright.

After nodding, Hendrix took the bag from me and uttered, "Don't force yourself to do things youdon't like from now on."

I smiled and responded, "She's also kind, and it's very sweet. Take a bite." Then I took a piece andhanded it to him, and said uncertainly, "Estella seems to be much more lively than before!"

Hendrix, who had a piece of dried mango in his mouth, said, "Her head was injured last time andthere were some complications."novelbin

I was dumbfounded. The doctor had said that she might've had a concussion when we were therein the hospital. I looked up at Hendrix and couldn't help asking, "She just became lively. Is this aconsequence?"

Hendrix answered with a hum and spoke, "She did forget a lot of things. She even forgot Vincent, and sometimes her memory is in disarray."

I frowned. "Vincent?"

He nodded. "The boy who went to the hospital with us that day."

The elevator door opened and we arrived at the office. I didn't know where Hendrix had managed toget the delicious food on the table, and it was all the food I liked, no less.

Since my attention was caught by the food, I stopped asking him questions.

It was not easy for Hendrix to contact people for a suitable bone marrow for Anne. Firstly, it wasdifficult to find a bone marrow donor. Secondly, even if he found a donor, he also needed to makesure that the donor was qualified to have an operation. He also need to find a kidney, which was themost difficult. It was harder to find the right kidney for a child than it was to reach the sky.

Thinking of this, I lost my appetite and sat on the sofa, staring at Hendrix absentmindedly.

The door of the office was knocked several times, but Hendrix did not look at it and just said in a lowvoice, "Come in!"

Estella came in with a cup of coffee and another cup of hot milk tea in her hand. She put the coffeeon Hendrix's table and handed the milk tea to me. She looked at me and said, "Mrs. Roberts, havea taste. I made it myself!"

I smiled and thanked her. I took a light sip. It was really good.

Hendrix suddenly stood up fiercely from the table with a stony face. The cup of tea brought in byEstella fell to the ground and broke into pieces. He held his mobile phone in his hand and said tothe person on the other line, "Go to the hospital immediately. I'll come later!"

Hearing this, I instinctively thought that something bad had happened to Anne. So I stood upabruptly and asked in a panic, "What happened?"

He grabbed his coat and looked at me. "Josiah was injured badly in the prison. I'll go to visit him."Then, he looked at Estella and said, "Miss Zanes,

please send Mrs. Roberts home later."

Then he left in a hurry.

I was a little taken aback. Josiah had been in jail safe and sound all this while, so how couldsomething bad have happened to him? Could it be that Pedro had sent someone to cause himtrouble because of what he did to Anne?

But knowing his personality, if Pedro had wanted to teach Josiah a lesson, he would have crippledJosiah the first time. Why did he find someone to go after him for a second time?
