Chapter 1233

My phone was broken, and I just gave all the cash I had with me to Eason. Therefore, there was noway for me to take a taxi back to the hotel.

Seeing that Tobias hadn't gone far, I shouted after him, "Mr. Hayes, hold on!"

He stopped and looked back at me. His eyes were still cold. "What?"

"You broke my phone, so I can't get a taxi. Could you please ask someone to send me back?" Ithought that although Tobias was not very pleasing to the eye, at least he was a gentleman. Afterall, I had asked politely, so he had no reason to ignore me.

However, I was wrong. He looked at me coldly and said, "Oh, it's none of my business!" Right afterthat, he left, leaving me alone on the spot.novelbin

I almost choked to death. "What kind of person is he?!"

I walked back to the hotel. Luckily, I had not wandered far. When I returned to the hotel, Hendrix hadalready returned. He was sitting on the sofa with an unhappy look on his face.

I looked at him and said, "I just met Tobias. He grabbed my phone like a lunatic and broke it. I'm sopissed off."

I couldn't see his expression as he looked down at a book. He didn't answer me either. He justcontinued to read. I went to him and sat down beside him. I looked at him and said, "What aboutyou? You went out so early in the morning to do some work. How did it go?"

He suddenly put down the book in his hand and went into the bathroom. He completely ignored me.I was taken aback. Why was he angry? I was so confused.

I sat on the sofa for some time. He came out of the bathroom after taking a shower. I looked at himwith patience and said, "Hendrix, what's wrong? I ran into Eason today and almost got into trouble.Fortunately, that b*stard Tobias showed up. Although he is annoying, it's good that he isn't cold-blooded."

He stared at me, not saying anything. He seemed to be holding his breath. I was really confused. Ihad no clue why he was angry or upset.

Seeing that he continued to read his book, I was not in the mood to talk anymore. Hence, I got up,went to take a shower, and then went to bed.

Walking back and forth was really tiring.

As soon as I came out of the bathroom, I saw Hendrix on the phone. When he saw me, he handedthe phone to me without saying a word, then picked up his book and continued to read it.

I took the phone. It was Valerie on the other side of the phone. She said anxiously, "Arianna, Anneis having fever again. She had a fever a few times this month, and it's the same every time - shehas a high fever, she takes some medicine, and the fever goes away. After a few days, the fevercomes back. I'm getting worried."

I wasn't sure. I thought about how I would have to stay in Oakland for a few days and couldn't takeAnne to the hospital, hence I could only say, "Mom, can one of the maids take Anne to the hospitalfor a check-up? It could be because of the weather. Hopefully, it's nothing and she will be bettersoon."

Valerie nodded and said, "Okay, I'll arrange tomorrow. Your dad and I have been very busy recently.Come back right after you and Hendrix are done in Oakland. Don't go to Asherton. Stay in JaroldCity, study management, and become familiar with the operation and management of LawsonGroup and Moore Group. Your father and I are getting old; we will hand over the company's affairs

to you and Hendrix. Both of you are young, and have the knowledge and ability. I'm sure you twocan manage the company even better than us after it is handed over to you!"
