Chapter 1222

Was it a coincidence?

Probably not!

I looked around the hall, then looked back at Tobias who had caught up with me, and said, "Hendrixtrusts you very much, but I don't. I don't know if the Moore Family can bankrupt you or not. However, I'm confident can make your life miserable!"

He knitted his brows as he glared at me and said, "What do you mean?"

I laughed coldly and answered, "Mr. Hayes, since you've set this trap, you should have investigatedeveryone thoroughly. It's very unprofessional of you to ignore me like that."

He pursed his lips. His face had darkened. "Who are you?"

I shrugged my shoulders and said with a faint smile, "How should I put it? I should introduce myselfthis way. My name is Arianna. I was born in a small county in Hovell. I wasn't raised by my parents, but by an old lady. As for my parents, they looked for me for many years, and we have finallyreunited a few years ago. I've just found out that I am the daughter of Pedro, the person who playsboth sides of the fence in Jarold City, and Valerie, the successful businesswoman. I am honored tobe their daughter and do things according to their tradition. Sometimes I have to admit that it is veryconvenient!"

He frowned, as if he couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Wasn't the daughter Pedro found aBurton? You..."

I smiled and said, "I'm sorry to disappoint you. There was indeed a small mistake in the past. Butlater, to protect me, we just went with it."

He narrowed his eyes, which were filled with disbelief. I looked at him. "Why don't you take agamble, Mr. Hayes? Let's see if I'm right or wrong?" I simply said, not feeling anxious at all.

Then, I gave Pedro a call. The phone rang for a few seconds before it was answered. It was Pedro'svoice "Arianna, how's it going?"

Tobias's pupils constricted. He looked like he still had some doubts.

A smile tugged at my lips as I said to Pedro, "Dad, we're still in the casino. Hendrix isn't with me. I'mwith Mr. Hayes right now."

"Alright, send my regards to Mr. Hayes for me," Pedro said.

I nodded with a faint smile and said, "Okay!"novelbin

The call was on loudspeaker. Hence, Tobias could definitely hear it. He looked at me, his lipspursed. He seemed to be thinking about something.

I hung up the phone and made another call. Once the call was answered, the person on the otherend said, "Miss, we're ready to take action at any time!"

At that moment, we calmly kept quiet. I looked right at Tobias. His lips were pursed, and color haddrained from his face. "Let's go and meet up with Hendrix!"

I gave him a small smile and said to the phone, "Okay. Wait for a moment. If Hendrix and I are notout in half an hour, you don't have to wait for my call, just follow the original plan."

The person on the other end of the line said, "Yes!"

After hanging up the phone, Tobias looked at me with his brows furrowed. "You've really thought thisout well!"

I smiled and said, "There's no other way. It's better to be safe than sorry. We can't leave our lives tostrangers, can we?"

He snorted, and then took me to the other side of the second floor. They walked down the hallway, straight to the innermost room. Tobias stood at the door and keyed in the password.

The door opened. Looking at all of this, I was not really nervous. After all, I had seen worse.

It was just like any other room, with a table, a sofa, and people. The difference was that most of thepeople in this room were people I knew. They could even be considered as old acquaintances.
