Chapter 1202

"Mrs. Roberts, are you alright?" A voice rang out next to my ear. Dazed, I stared at Evan blankly, who was approaching me. As I looked at him, I started to tremble.

He looked at me worriedly, "Mrs. Roberts, I'll take you back to Mr. Roberts's office first!"

Evan half dragged me into Hendrix's office. I felt as if all my strength had been drained, andcollapsed in an instant as soon as I saw Hendrix.

Hendrix immediately held me as soon as he saw me, looking at Evan with a frown. "What's goingon?"

Evan sighed lightly, "Mrs. Roberts tried to leave from the back door and witnessed Sonia jumping offa building. She must have been scared out of her wits!"

Sonia Sanders?

That girl I met in the elevator just now?novelbin

Why did she suddenly jump off the building?

In an instant, there were dozens of questions popping up in my mind.

Hendrix frowned in concern, "Inform the public relations department, and deal with this suicideincident quickly. In addition, look into Sonia's relationships and family situation thoroughly, and findout why she suddenly committed suicide. Don't let the media write about it casually."

Evan nodded and left with a serious face.

The office door closed, and I stayed in Hendrix's arms. My head was buzzing, and I looked at himfor a long while, unable to say a word. He let me lie on the bed and poured me a glass of water.

Then, he looked at me and said, "Don't be afraid, I'm here!"

I took a mouthful of water and let out a long, deep breath. After I calmed down, I looked up atHendrix blankly and asked in a low voice, "Is she dead?"

Hendrix nodded, and held me in his arms. "Yes, it's alright. I'm here. Don't be afraid!"

My hands and my body were still shaking uncontrollably. This was a natural, instinctive reaction.

It took a long while before I finally calmed down, the familiar environment and person helped a lot. Iforced myself to relaxed while Hendrix held me in his arms and comforted me gently.

I gradually calmed down and adjusted my voice. Then, I looked up at him and explained, "I'd justmet her at the elevator door when I went out. Why would she suddenly jump off the building?"

Hendrix shook his head slightly, he didn't know either. At this moment, Evan came in with a solemnexpression. He looked at Hendrix and said, "Mr. Roberts, we have already dealt with the body. Thepolice are here. They said that they wanted to check the crime scene to determine whether this is ahomicide or suicide. The exit passage downstairs has been sealed off."

Of course, the police had to investigate. Hendrix nodded, and gently said to me, "You stay here. I'llbe back soon."

He was the chairman of the company, so naturally, he needed to come forward when this kind ofthing happened.

I nodded. He and Evan went out of the office. I couldn't sit still in the office, so I got up and went tothe common area. Due to Sonia's suicide, a lot of staff were unable to concentrate on their work.

Some of the policemen were looking for the point she'd fallen from, and some police officers wereinquiring about the situation with the office employees. For a moment, everyone was jittery.

Hendrix only sent the police off later. Seeing that I was in the common area, he waved at me,motioning me to go over to him.

I walked up to him, and we returned to the office.

Evan said with a frown, "Mr. Roberts, Sonia's incident may not have been a coincidence!"

There was no expression on Hendrix's face, but after a moment of silence, he looked at Evan andsaid, "Contact the family members of the deceased first. We need to deal with her family'semotional state as soon as possible."

Evan nodded and then left.
