Chapter 1103

I got out of the car and went back to the villa. Hendrix had said that morning that we would havedinner together. I gave it some thought, and supposed that it would be better for me to preparesome dishes myself.

The refrigerator was piled up with a lot of vegetables and meat, and there were also manyingredients for me to cook with.

After a lot of work, I finally finished preparing four different dishes. I looked at my cell phone andgave Hendrix a call.

My call couldn't get through, and I sat down at the dining table to send him a text message.

It was almost eight o'clock in the evening, yet I failed to hear the sound of a car engine. I dialed hisnumber again, but my call still couldn't get through.

I called Evan. After a few beeps, he picked up the phone, greeting me, "Madam!"

"Evan, is Hendrix with you now?" I asked.

Evan seemed to have known that I would ask that, so he said, "Mr. Roberts is still in the conferenceroom. When he comes out of the conference room, I will notify him to call you back."

I nodded and agreed to it. I hung up on the call and looked at the food on the table that was gettingcold. I couldn't help but let out a sigh.

After waiting for more than an hour, I picked up my phone again to call Hendrix.

Unexpectedly, the sound of a car finally came from outside. I got up immediately and looked at thecold dishes on the table, and couldn't help but feel a little sad.

Still, I went out with a smile.

However, the person I saw at the door was not Hendrix, but Evan instead.

I looked behind him, but failed to see Hendrix. I couldn't help but ask, "Evan, where is Hendrix?"

Evan handed me a well-packaged box in his hand and said, "Madam, Mr. Roberts has a dinnerparty to attend to tonight, so he can't come back. He asked me to send this to you. It's fromSunshine Lake, and it tastes fresh and tender. Do have some!"

I was dumbfounded for a bit. Looking at the box full of large crabs, I asked, "When will he comeback?"

Evan shook his head slightly and said, "I'm not quite sure about that. Do you want to eat first?"

I took the crabs over and found a plate and a pair of scissors to enjoy the tasty meal.

Evan had to head back and I didn't see him off. After eating the crabs, I went to the study room.

There was the sound of a car coming from outside again. It hadn't been long since Evan left, so itcouldn't be Hendrix.

I got up and went to the balcony to take a look. It was Naomi and Sebastian, who were staying inthe house next door, coming home. They were getting out of the car.

Naomi looked towards my place and saw me standing on the balcony. She asked, "Have you haddinner?"

I nodded, "I've just had my dinner. What about you guys?"

She replied, "We just finished eating, and we brought back some desserts for you. I'll send themover for you later!" Sebastian parked the car and took out an exquisite box from the car and handed

it to her.

She came over to the house with the box, and I went downstairs to open the door for her.

She was wearing a beige coat, and she looked at me, asking, "It's so cold, why are you wearing solittle?"

Since I didn't feel that it was too cold, I insisted, "It's fine. It's not that cold!"

Taking the desserts from her, I looked at her and asked, "It's green tea cheesecake. Did you guysgo to Southsburg Street?"

She nodded and looked at me, saying, "Try some. Sebastian said that green tea cheesecake iscommon in Jarold City, but the people in Asherton have different tastes, so not many shops sellthem here. I found some today, and I thought that you would like them, so I brought some back foryou!"

I took a bite of it, and the cheese tasted so exquisite that I couldn't help praising it, "It tastes reallygood. Would you like to have a try?"
