Chapter 67

Celena took a few deep breaths to calm herself down. The warmth of Liam’s palm against hers alsohelped to slow down her racing heart. and remove her anxious thoughts.

“Alright. Let’s go inside.”

With that, Celena, Liam, and Jovie entered the hall, much to everyone’s surprise.

The Stone family all turned to stare at them in fury when they walked in, but no one stopped themas they made their way to a table in a

They had just sat down when a familiar voice rang out behind them. Do my eyes deceive me? It’sgood, old Celena. Long time no see. Weren’t you kicked out of the family and banished for life? What are you doing here then? I see you’ve also brought the bastard you married and the scum of adaughter you have!”

He was none other than Qemal Stone, Celena’s half-brother and Cheryl’s biological brother.Celena’s mother was Yafe Stone’s firs wife, but he eventually cheated on her with his current wife,Shera Labar, who got pregnant not long after with Cheryl. She confronte Yafe and announced herexistence to Celena’s mother, Lucy, whic ultimately devastated Lucy so much that she passedaway.

Not long after Lucy’s death, Yafe married Sherah, who then gave birth to Cheryl. After that, she gotpregnant with Qemal, who would later grow up to become the eldest heir to the Stone familyfortune. As a result, Qemal had been the apple of his family’s eye and spoiled.

Because of Sherah, Qemal grew to detest his half-sister, Celena. Not only that, but the dissolutionof Cheryl’s engagement with Patrick caused him so much humiliation that he did not even dare toleave

the house for the past few days. Therefore, he was even more outraged to see Celena, Liam, andJovie turn up here. He had so much pent-up anger and shame that he had to take it out on Celena.

“My dearest sister, I can’t believe how terrible your taste is. It’s one thing to keep such an ugly scumof a child but another thing entirely to marry some useless man with nothing to his name!” Qemal’sgaze landed on Jovie, then glanced contemptuously at Liam and raised his brows. “Who is heeven? I know you’re desperate to raise your child with a father, but you should at least put somethought into the kind of man you’re looking for. He doesn’t look rich at all!

“Is that the reason you decided to show up here? Are you broke and thinking of begging Grandpafor money? In your dreams! Have you forgotten what you’ve done to our family name? Do youhonestly think Grandpa will forgive you for humiliating us? Let me give you a piece of advice,Celena. You should leave before Grandpa arrives and sees you!”

Qemal’s tone was seething with rage and disgust.

Celena was so ashamed that she lowered her head and tried to explain tearfully, “No, Qemal, that’snot what it is at all. I received an invitation! Grandpa was the one who invited me here…”

With that, she took out the invitation from her bag and handed it to Qemal.

Qemal snatched it out of her hands, tore it into shreds, and tossed the pieces back to herdisdainfully. “So what if you have an invitation? Get out of here, you whore! If it weren’t for the fact

that you’re my half- sister, I would’ve called the guards by now! I’m showing you plenty of mercy byeven talking to you, so you’d better save us all the trouble and kick yourself out!”

Celena quickly got onto her knees and desperately picked up the torn invitation, sobbing. “It wasGrandpa who invited me! I was invited…”
