Ever since the Hughes broke off Patrick and Cheryl’s engagement, the Hughes had gone a stepfurther and deliberately disrupted all of the Stone family’s business transactions. Because of that,the Stone family had lost several important business deals over the past few days and suffered asignificant blow to their finances. Therefore, they chose to host a birthday party on Reginald’s behalfas an excuse to invite all the socialites in the city and revive their connections.
It was indeed Cheryl who had sent the invitation over. Since Liam had ruined her engagement andhumiliated her in front of the entire Drunham City, she was determined to make Celena pay it backtenfold!
The next day, the Stones wanted to reiterate to the public that they were still as strong as everdespite the Hughes’ backlash, so they deliberately set the venue of the party at one of the mostexpensive and luxurious hotels in Drunham City, the King’s Summit Hotel, which was second only tothe Sovereign Hotel. The guest list contained exclusively the most rich and famous people in thecity.
The Sovereign was undoubtedly the best and most extravagant hote in the city, but since Cheryl’sengagement party was held there a fev days ago, the Stones did not want to return to that placeagain and thus chose the next best option.
Everyone was rather surprised by it. They could not understand how the Stones had managed topull together yet another extravagant celebration just days after the previous one. Could the Stonesbe far more powerful and influential than they had all thought? Could the Hughes’ backlash havefailed to cause even a dent in the Stones’ wealth?
