Chapter 178

By the time Liam set the table for dinner, Jovie was already starving. She stared at Celena with alonging look and whined, "Mom, the soup that Dad made smells amazing. I want some…"

Celena gently stroked her hair and served her a bowl of piping hot soup. The three of them then satdown together for a hearty dinner.

Suddenly, Celena said, "I need to pop by the office tomorrow to make an inventory of all thedestroyed equipment so we can acquire new ones. I also need to start the employment process torehire new employees for the ones we've let go. It will be a busy day for me, so I think… you shouldbring Jovie out for the day, Liam!"

With that, Celena lowered her head and took a sip of her soup, blushing. She had intended to askLiam to go with her on her errands, but she decided to let Liam stay with Jovie instead.

Liam stared at her with a smile. He could tell exactly what she wanted to say. He put a piece ofsteak onto her plate and replied, "It's okay. We can leave Jovie at home tomorrow. I'll go with you towork instead."

"What? What about Jovie, then?" Celena gaped at him. As much as she wanted Liam to comealong with her, she was worried that those rascals would return. She wanted Liam around forprotection, and she did not want to leave Jovie alone.novelbin

Liam considered this for a moment, then replied, "It's okay. I'll ask Calum to come by and look afterJovie for a while. They'll be fine!"

With that, he turned to Jovie and asked, "Jovie, do you want to stay home and play with UncleCalum tomorrow? I'll ask him to come over!"

"Yes, please! Uncle Calum is so much fun!" Jovie squealed in delight.

The next day, Calum came over as planned. However, instead of staying home, he decided to takeJovie out to the playground. After all, they were still technically in the Stone family's territory, andthus, he did not want to get into any trouble.

Jovie naturally loved the idea of going to the playground. She skipped all the way from the houseand leaped into Calum's car, her tiny frame already shaking with excitement.

Meanwhile, Liam and Celena departed to the factory.

The factory had not been in operation since the incident, and no one had come by to clean up themess. There were toppled chairs and tables everywhere and leftover debris of the ruined equipmentand machinery. This did not look like a functional factory but a garbage dump.

Besides that, more than half of the factory workers had quit since the incident, so there was barelyanyone around.

Celena was distraught. "We need to set up the factory all over again before we can resume work. Ifwe can't set it up in time, the project will have to be delayed!"

Liam tried to reassure her, "Don't worry, Celena. Everything will be fine again in no time. Therewon't be a delay!"

At this moment, the factory supervisor, Thomas Lane, strode over. "You're here, Ms. Stone! We'restill in the process of cleaning up. I'm confident we'll be able to get everything sorted by today. Wedidn't know you'd be coming. I wanted to invite you over once we'd cleaned everything up!"

Celena nodded. "Thank you for your hard work, Mr. Lane! Have you started interviewing anyoneyet?"

The smile froze on Mr. Lane's face. He sighed and replied, "To be frank with you, Ms. Stone, but wehaven't had any applicants for the jobs. For some reason, a rumor has gone out about what

happened, and people are scared of applying because they don't want to get beaten up. No one isapplying for the job vacancies. The worst part is, some of the higher management even put in theirresignation letters to me this morning!"

The color drained from Celena's face.
