Chapter 869

When Paul and Tamara entered the hospital room, Esther was engrossed in a comedy movie, her facebrightening with a happy smile as the plot amused her.

At that moment, Logan's parents questioned whether she could be Bradley's ex-wife, considering howlively and beautiful Esther appeared, seemingly unlike before.

"Esther, these are my parents. They came to see you," Logan reminded her.

Startled, Esther set down her phone, ready to rise.

Logan approached and gently held her shoulder. "You're a patient. No need to tire yourself."

Paul and Tamara added, "That's right, just stay seated."

With a questioning look, Esther asked Logan why he hadn't informed her earlier. She wasn't mentallyprepared at all.

"Esther, my parents know about your situation," Logan said, successfully calming her anxiousemotions.

Esther instantly felt less nervous. She and Logan were merely playing the roles of a fake couple. If theact became too realistic, she worried about facing Logan's parents after their collaboration ended.

"Don't worry, Esther. The Fosters have some influence in Capitus. We can protect you."

Having only given birth to a son, Tamara had always envied those with daughters.

Little girls were endearing and could wear pretty dresses and different hairstyles as they grew up. Themother and daughter could even chat in bed like best friends.

Unfortunately, due to health reasons, she couldn't have a daughter of her own.

Now that Logan had Esther as his fiancee, she naturally wanted to cherish Esther like a daughter.

"Thank you, Mrs. Foster."

Paul cleared his throat, reminding them, "Alright, we're just here to see you. Logan, take good care ofher."

Logan's parents exchanged glances and left the hospital room together.

After meeting Esther only once, Paul was already thinking about when to host the engagement party, the wedding, and when to have grandchildren.

Outside the hospital room.

Paul asked softly, "Should we prepare for their engagement?

"Now? Shouldn't we discuss it with Logan?" Tamara suggested.

"Why discuss it with him? He's taking care of Esther in the hospital. We'll make arrangements for theengagement ourselves."novelbin

Tamara said, "True. They just have to attend the engagement party when the time comes."

While Logan remained unaware, his parents were eager to set things in stone, not giving him a chanceto reconsider.

In the hospital room.

Esther sat on the bed, looking at Logan. "How was my performance just now?"

"Not bad," Logan replied indifferently.

"Then I'll take it as a compliment," Esther said, pressing play to continue watching the movie.

The comedy movie had frequent laugh-out-loud moments, and Esther burst into laughter.

Logan took a long look at Esther. He knew Esther's true identity and was aware of the past betweenher and Bradley.

Watching Esther like this, he couldn't help but wonder—would Esther's life have been this way if shehadn't encountered Bradley?

A pleasant love could immerse a woman in happiness. However, what Bradley had given Esther wasendless hurt and suffering.

Gabriel, Agatha, and Oliver had done the right thing. They helped Esther completely break free fromher old identity, giving her a fresh life free from harm.

Logan's gaze was too intense. Esther couldn't help but peel her eyes from the screen. She touched herface and asked, "Is there something dirty on my face?"

"No."
