Chapter 750

Esther’s heart raced in her chest.novelbin

“Esther! Aren’t you good at hiding, huh?” Bradley said through his gritted teeth.

Esther’s temples throbbed.

Jasper and Kevin instinctively drew closer, guarding her like knights.

“Bradley, why would she be hiding if it weren’t for your continuous mistreatment of Esther?” Kevincalmly countered. “If you have come to check on Clark, please sit and wait for updates. If you havecome to cause trouble for Esther, then leave.”

Bradley smirked and questioned coldly, “Kevin, who do you think you are to talk to me like this?”

Kevin quipped, “How does it feel to be abandoned, Bradley?”

Jasper reminded, “Kevin, Clark’s still in surgery. Save your words.”

“Kevin, sit down.” Esther gently tugged Kevin’s sleeve, worried Bradley might lose his temper and harmhim.

Kevin complied.

The hallway outside the operating room was eerily silent, much like the presence of death.

Bradley took a few steps back and sat across from Kevin. He folded his arms, and his cold eyesremained fixed on Esther, his lips twisted into a cruel smile.

Esther could feel the intensity of Bradley’s gaze and sipped her coffee nervously, trying to ease thetense atmosphere.

After a while, the door to the operating room swung open, and Agatha emerged.

Upon seeing her, Esther hurried to her side and asked softly, “Grandma Agatha, how’s Clark?”

“He’s stable,” Agatha replied calmly. “Now it’s up to his will to recover. If he doesn’t wake up, he mightbe in a vegetative state.”

Esther’s legs grew weak, and she felt like she might collapse. Kevin and Jasper reached out to supporther.

Given Agatha’s medical expertise, Esther understood that other doctors could barely do better withwhat she had just said.

“Is Clark in the ICU now, Grandma Agatha?”

To ease Esther’s conscience, Agatha reassured her, “He’ll be in the ICU for a while. Don’t worry. Clarkis a good person, and luck may be on his side.”

Esther couldn’t shake her suspicions about Bradley. Her doubts felt like lingering shadows that refusedto dissipate.

“I understand, Grandma Agatha.”

Kevin offered, “Esther, don’t worry. I’ll stay at the hospital and keep an eye on Clark.”

“Thank you, Kevin.” Esther looked at him with gratitude.

Noticing the blood on Esther, Jasper suggested, “Let me take you and Dr. Foster back to rest.”

“Esther!” Bradley’s voice was sharp. “This is the last time I’m asking you! Are you really planning todivorce me?”

Esther trembled as she heard the clear threat in Bradley’s words. She mustered her courage andasked, “Bradley, are you implying that the victim of today’s accident would have been me since Iinsisted on a divorce?”
