Chapter 723

Oliver and Agatha stood outside the ICU. Oliver didn’t immediately doubt what Agatha had justrevealed in front of Bradley.

“Oliver, you might be wondering if this is true,” Agatha said, her gaze fixed on Esther, who had narrowlyescaped death. She took a deep breath, her eyes showing pain, and said, “I wish I could say that whatI just mentioned was just a scare tactic to frighten Bradley, but… all of it is true.”

Oliver’s expression darkened. He took a seat across from Agatha and confessed, “I blame myself fornot protecting Esther. I…”

“It’s not your fault.” Agatha understood that even though there was evidence against the Pendletons, the timing was crucial. When Bradley kidnapped Esther, everyone in the Quills had been preoccupiedand couldn’t look after her.

“It’s Esther’s destiny.”

Every person had their own destiny. This was Esther’s destiny. Or perhaps it was her choice.

“Dr. Foster, I entrust Esther to you,” Oliver said helplessly. “I didn’t know who Esther’s father was.”

Agatha raised an eyebrow and asked in surprise, “Didn’t you all believe that Esther was your sister’schild?”

Oliver shook his head slightly and admitted with a pained voice, “In my memory, my sister was nevermarried and was never pregnant. I—”

Agatha interjected, “Is it possible that your sister had a child, but you weren’t aware of it?”

“It’s a possibility.” Oliver pondered for a moment, then continued cautiously. “Dr. Foster, please help meand Esther with a DNA test.”

Seeing Oliver propose a DNA test at that moment, Agatha couldn’t help but ask, “Have you thought ofsomething?”

“Yes.” Oliver handed a photo to Agatha.novelbin

Agatha studied the man in the photo and felt a sense of familiarity. “Who is this?”

Oliver sat down and glanced at Esther in the ICU. “While dealing with the Pendletons’ issues, Richardconfessed to the biggest drug trafficking case he’d ever handled. An undercover DEA agent wasinvolved, and the man in the photo is that agent.”

Agatha’s curiosity was piqued. “What’s his connection to Esther?”

Oliver passed another photo to Agatha, showing Faye standing alongside the same man.

“What does this mean?”

Oliver’s heart raced. “This man’s family of three was killed in a fire that was believed to be an act ofrevenge by the drug traffickers.”

Agatha stared at the man beside Faye, noticing his handsome features and an aura of righteousness. Itwas no wonder Faye had fallen for him—he was undeniably attractive.

“So, you suspect…”

Oliver stated with conviction, “Billy claimed that Faye entrusted Esther to him. I’ve figured out why mysister might have done so. Perhaps Faye had already suspected a vast network of connections behindthe drug traffickers.

“She wasn’t sure who was facilitating the drug trafficking, but her willingness to entrust Esther to Billysuggests she may have suspected someone in Capitus. The truth of what happened back then needs athorough investigation.”

“Are you suggesting we do a DNA test now to confirm if Esther is indeed Faye’s child?”
