“Jacob, is Mommy going to die?” Felix asked.
Jacob took a deep breath and reassured, “No, she won’t.”
“Really?”
Tears welled up in Felix’s young eyes. He seemed both uncertain about Jacob’s words and hopeful forhis support. He was scared, anxious, and trembling all at once.
“Of course, it’s true.”
Sunshine walked over to Felix from Jacob’s side. “Felix, Mommy will be alright.”
Hearing Sunshine’s words, Felix cried even louder.

With her innocent charm, Sunshine added, “Jacob, hurting wives is against the law. We should call thepolice to arrest him!”
Bradley held Felix’s wrist with just enough force. However, when he saw Sunshine’s face, whichresembled Esther’s, his fingers involuntarily tightened around her wrist.
