Chapter 595

Chapter 595novelbin

Bradley firmly held onto Esther’s slender waist with one hand, his eyes dangerously flashing as hewarned, “Don’t you dare move!”

Esther’s vision blurred with a dizzying array of colors. She felt disoriented, her eyelids drooping despiteher best efforts to keep them open. Nevertheless, her body instinctively clung to Bradley as if he washer only refuge.

Gradually, Bradley sensed that something was amiss with Esther in his arms. He lowered his head andnoticed her flushed face.

Gripping her chin firmly, he demanded, “Esther, are you pretending to be unconscious?”

The heat radiating from Esther’s skin burned Bradley’s fingers and unsettled him. Panic briefly crossedhis handsome face, and his eyes filled with confusion. “Esther, stop this act right now!”

Esther remained still.

In an instant, a wave of dread washed over Bradley’s heart. Holding her tightly, he rushed out of theroom and shouted for medical help. “Doctor! Nurse!”

The staff quickly responded to Bradley’s desperate calls. They took Esther from his arms and providedimmediate treatment. All the while, Bradley’s gaze remained fixed on them, his voice filled with a threat.“If anything happens to her, you will all face consequences!”

Kevin hurriedly arrived and put his hand on Bradley’s forehead, urging, “Bradley, you need to calmdown. You’re obstructing the doctors.”

“Kevin! How can you expect me to stay calm? That’s Esther!”

Kevin sighed and advised, “Bradley, I trust the medical staff here. Yes, that’s Esther, your wife. Buthave you considered why Esther is in this condition?”

‘And it was all because Bradley cared only for himself, never considering Esther’s well-being,’ Kevinthought.

Esther’s unfortunate fate with Bradley was a painful story. From giving birth in prison without properpostnatal care to her current precarious state, it was all due to Bradley’s constant neglect. She hadbeen continuously hurt, both physically and emotionally.

“Kevin!” Bradley’s eyes darkened, his expression fierce as if he wanted to devour Kevin whole. “Areyou blaming me?”

Kevin slapped his own forehead and then spoke softly. “No, blame me instead.”

Fortunately, Esther’s unconsciousness was caused by a high fever. The doctor gave her a fever-reducing medication.

“Mr. Warner, Dr. Slade. About Ms. Quill-”

Bradley interjected, “Not Ms. Quill. It’s Mrs. Warner!”

Kevin rolled his eyes, at a loss for words.

The doctor shrugged, choosing not to argue with Bradley. “Mrs. Warner has been weakened by herhigh fever. As her family, please take good care of her.”

‘Please, let’s not torment her. Nor the medical staff. They’re just doctors, not gods,’ Kevin thought.

Bradley looked at Esther, frail on the hospital bed, and slowly approached her. “Esther, enough with theact…”

Kevin pulled Bradley back, urgently pleading. “For heaven’s sake, can you give Esther some peaceand let her rest just this once?”

With the emotional roller coaster she had been on, couldn’t she catch a break, even now?
