Chapter 588

Chapter 588

Esther’s gaze flickered slightly. She seemed to be thinking about the same things Jasper hadconsidered.

The best way was to bring down the Pendletons, ensuring that there would be no more Pendletonmembers in Capitus.

But… how should they go about it?

“So, what should we do?” Esther asked Jasper subconsciously.

“Esther, I’m not familiar with Capitus, just like you. But we can go to Mr. Quill. He must have a way.”

Esther mechanically nodded. “Okay.”

Jasper took the dazed Esther to Oliver.

The ongoing feud between the Quills and Pendletons had left Capitus in a state of hidden turmoil.Despite having the Fosters as an ally, the Quills still found it challenging to gain the upper hand. Afterall, as long as Chadwick’s father remained in his position, no one would be openly siding with Oliver.

“Esther, Jasper, have a seat.”

Oliver asked his secretary to serve the two of them tea.

He had been so occupied with fighting the Pendletons that there were faint dark circles under his eyesfrom lack of sleep.novelbin

Unlike the reckless Pendletons, the Quills did not want their feud to implicate regular people.

“Mr. Quill, the Searle Group is small, but I hope to lend you a hand.”

Oliver raised an eyebrow slightly, his voice deep and serious. “Jasper, do you understand that if thisfails, you will lose everything?”

Jasper did not seem to mind and replied, “Mr. Quill, whether the Searles thrive or deteriorate meanslittle to me. Moreover, with my education and abilities, I can still carve out my own path even withoutthe Searles.”

“That’s a commendable spirit!” Oliver praised Jasper. He saw through Jasper’s motives, which were allfor the sake of Esther, but said nothing. “In that case, I’ll accept your heartfelt offer.”

“With the Quill brothers working together, I believe it won’t be long before the Pendletons no longerexist in Capitus!”

Esther always felt a sense of timidity before Oliver. The Quills had treated her well, standing by her sideeven when it meant opposing the Pendletons. Because of Bradley, however, she had not been able tohelp, and the guilt from that weighed heavily

on her.

“Esther, Dr. Foster said that your recent mental state hasn’t been very good. You’re still young. Don’tworry too much. Your health is the most important,” Oliver said kindly.

Esther replied softly, “I understand, Uncle Oliver.”

Oliver then turned his attention to the hesitant Jasper and asked, “Jasper, do you have any good ideason how to deal with the Pendletons?”

“I’m not very familiar with Capitus,” Jasper humbly replied, “But I do know a principle-make themarrogant and reckless. Only when the enemy becomes overconfident can we better grasp theirweaknesses. How about we pretend to be weak and slowly plot our moves? When the opportunityarises, we can strike decisively.”

Oliver nodded thoughtfully and asked, “What are your thoughts?”

“I think the illegitimate Pendleton daughter can be the breakthrough point,” Jasper slowly voiced histhoughts. He gestured subtly to Esther, indicating for her to remain calm.

Oliver showed interest and commented, “Having an illegitimate daughter isn’t such a big deal.”

“That’s true. Having an illegitimate daughter isn’t a major issue,” Jasper agreed. “But I don’t believe thePendletons are as clean as they seem. Moreover, I saw Chadwick today and suspect he’s involved indrug use.”
