Chapter 561

Chapter 561

Mandy stood behind a wooden fence, watching Esther In the courtyard. Esther looked even morebeautiful than before, but the sadness in her eyes made her seem fragile.

“Ms. Pendleton, this is Bradley Warner’s wife, and we’ve come to ask you if-”

Before Kevin could finish, Mandy interrupted, “Please leave, both of you. I won’t donate my liver toBradley.”

“Ms. Pendleton, please. I beg you to save him,” Esther humbly pleaded.

Seeing Esther’s tear-filled eyes, Mandy felt a strange satisfaction. She was no longer Liliane Anstey-now she was Mandy Pendleton. She was grateful to the enigmatic X for this new identity, which allowedher to openly scorn Esther.

“Mrs. Warner, my last name is Pendleton. My half-brother, sharing the same father, had his hand ruinedby your husband, Bradley. Do you think I would help him?” Mandy’s words were deliberate and hitEsther hard.

“So, Chadwick is your brother?”

Mandy nodded slightly.

“Related by blood?”

Mandy smiled but stayed silent.

Esther and Kevin were stunned to learn that Chadwick’s sister was the one person who could saveBradley.

Was there hope left for Bradley?novelbin

Worry filled Kevin’s eyes as he looked at Esther, who felt like her mouth was filled with cotton.

“Ms. Pendleton, please. I beg you to…”

Radiant in her beauty, Mandy gently shook her head.. “I’m sorry,” she whispered. “You should both go.”

Esther took a deep breath and knelt before Mandy, pleading. “Ms. Pendleton, I know my request issudden and bold, but please save him! I’ll do anything if you agree.”

Mandy shook her head, her face saying it all. “I’m sorry. Even if you kneel here for an eternity, I won’thelp him.”

“Ms. Pendleton, please…”

Mandy couldn’t bear to look at Esther any longer. She slowly ascended the steps and returned to hervilla, softly closing the door behind her. Through the glass, she saw Esther still kneeling outside thefence. A faint smirk crossed her lips.

‘If you wish to kneel, Esther, then kneel until time’s end, Mandy mused.

Kevin watched Mandy’s retreating figure and helped Esther back on her feet. He whispered, “Esther, stop kneeling. Let’s think of another way.”

Esther’s eyes filled with tears. “Kevin, what other options do we have? We’ve searched for so long andonly found one match…”

With red-rimmed eyes, Kevin said solemnly, “Esther, in a world of 8 billion people, there must beanother match for Bradley. She can’t be the only one.”

Esther clutched Kevin’s arm, desperation In her voice. “Kevin, what if I plead with Chadwick? If he says

yes, would Ms. Pendleton be willing to donate her liver to Bradley?”

Kevin grabbed Esther’s shoulders and shook her firmly. “Esther, wake up! Bradley maimed Chadwick’shand. Why would Chadwick help him?”

Esther cried out, “Kevin, what can we do then? The longer we wait, the worse his conditionbecomes…”

Kevin rubbed his temples, exasperated but determined. “I’ll figure something out,” he assured her, lifting Esther to her feet. “Stop kneeling. Let’s think of another way.”
